A forum for all things Cardiff City

Neil Warnock has claimed the vast majority of football fans want to see Cardiff City relegated from the Premier League this season because of the off-field sagas involving the club.
Warnock, 65, said 90% of neutral fans would probably prefer to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men fall through the top flight trap door because of episodes dating back to the club's change of colours from blue to red in 2012.
The veteran boss was speaking on commercial radio station TalkSPORT in a segment also involving ex-Cardiff boss Malky Mackay.
He said following the 4-0 home demolition by Hull City, which cast severe doubt on the Bluebirds' Premier League future, he got the feeling most Cardiff fans accepted their fate - before adding fans of other persuasions would welcome seeing them going down.
Addressing ex-boss Mackay, Warnock said: "Because of your situation though, I was listening to Cardiff fans when I was coming home on Saturday after doing the game.
"They almost accept it - what a mess the club is in and I think the average person or Premier League supporter now...I bet 90% want Cardiff to go down because of what's happened and yet the Cardiff fans they've had so much to put up with with changing colours and everything else."
Cardiff sacked ex-boss Mackay at the end of December following a very public fall out between Malaysian owner Vincent Tan and the Scot.
An email sent by Tan to Mackay raising question marks over transfers and his managerial record had been made public the week before while Mackay's right hand man Iain Moody had been dismissed from his role as head of recruitment back in October.
Warnock added he was glad Mackay wasn't back in work yet because he needed a break following the fallout.
"I'm glad you haven't got a job yet Malky," he said.
"I'll tell you why: because I think you needed a break.
"You know like when you've been in charge when people have come in and what have you, it grinds you down, it poisons you almost, doesn't it? And you need a break."
Warnock also said he believed current Cardiff manager Solskjaer may be struggling to adapt to a relegation dogfight with the Bluebirds having not been used to such an adverse set of circumstances.
He added: "I'm not being disrespectful because he's a lovely guy isn't he? But when you've been in Norway and at Man Utd everything's been rosy really and he's not had any setbacks as such yet.
"Football management's about setbacks and how you handle defeats and how you recover from defeats. Unfortunately for Solskjaer he's not had any to look back on in his career yet.
"To be thrown in in the Premier League in your first job in England, I think it's criminal me."

Totally agree with him
Our club is an embarrassment and we have had almost no talk about our football by the media this year - it's all about tans diabolical mess
I bet the FA can't wait for us to be relegated either because we are a shocking advertisement for the premier league

This is why Warnock is a plum and pretty much despised by many outside half of Sheffield. He talks utter nonsense.
The part about the club being in a mess is obvious and if he thinks he is the first person to realise this and come out and speak publicly about it then he is deluded in the extreme. He's saying what we've all been saying for months.
As for the "90%" of fans who "want" to see the club relegated....? who in their right mind would ever want to see their club go down a division?!?!?
I'm fairly sure after pumping millions into the club the chairman isn't going to walk away if we do, so that's not a reason? In fact there isn't any reason why any fan of any club would want to see their team get relegated.
Warnock is, and always will be a fool. Passionate yes, but he's an absolute fool.

90% of neutral fans want us to go down he said, not 90% of fans.
Read it properly.
I completely agree with him.

agreed with the neutral bit, but to be honest I don't know many fans in general from other clubs that would like us to stay up so it's no real revelation!
And I've heard and read plenty of people say they want us to go down and basically shove two fingers up at the board. Why? what would that prove?

He's on about those that don't support CCFC and he is spot on
There again not many like us anyway!

That's not really a true assesment, as much as it pains for me to say it, I believe that many neutrals are happy to put their nationalistic bygotry to one side, which they have done in the case of Swansea City. They respect the style of football they play and see them as a bonus for the Premiership. Us on the other hand.....

Warnock's spot on, wish he was our manager now to put a rocket up some of the players backsides. He would get the lazy Zaha working to start from their Palace days. A manager like Warnock is what we need now, someone to get us playing with the pride and passion we used to have under Malky.

Where is the survey stats to say 90% want us relegated? Just an opinion without foundation! And our fans believe him? Bet 90% would love to see chelski relegated because of abramovich! Its true because i said so! No diffetent to what warnock said is it? City fans need to get a grip and stop believing every tom dick & harry rubbishing our club!

yes but has little to do with the goings on..............the news papers were full of it around the time of the play off final with Blackpool............the only place we had any support was in Preston, and that had f**k all to do with love ins and tea parties with Preston, just that they hate Blackpool more than they hate us.
