The Norwegians 2

How are the Norwegians doing in PL?

Berget
An average player who will not make any positiv difference to City.
He is just not a PL Player, and did not Even make a lot in Molde, I dont really understand why Ole brought him in.
The other City players in front are no better though, need 20 attempts to Get a goal, no real strikers.
The team dont need Berget, they need a goalgetter.!

Eikrem
Also an average player who will not make a difference in PL. He is more crative than Berget, and a good passer, but no good in
Defence and makes mistakes, which you have seen in a couple of matches that ended up in goals against us.
Maybe he can play as well as others in Citys midfield, but what City needs is someone to take Them to a higher level which
Will not happening with Eikrem.

Dæhli
As I wrote last time, this kid is a huge talent who will do a difference in PL, which I think he has showed that he is ready for.
He is a supertalent that will be one of the top players in PL in a few years time. Even now, he is able to help City in getting
Things right. In my opinion, he should play in the middle behind the striker(s), not on the wing.
Dæhli should play every match from now on.!

Ole
Ole tries to change the way of playing, to more offensiv and attacking football. In some periods this has worked as well, but
City has huge problems in both boxes, and then you dont win matches in PL.
The defence is shockingly bad, and how easy it looks to score against Cardiff.
It looks like the defence is from League 1. Cala may help as he is real class, he must play every match now.
Ole is perhaps on his way, but cannot save City with the players he has today.?
He is a stayer though, and will not leave after relegation, if he is not sacked by the madman mr Tan
I think Ole need next season as well, to build a solid attacking football team in Cardiff.

Next match is tottenham away, anyone has a spare ticket? I will go, but need away ticket or will have to sit amongst Spurs fans.
Norwich did beat Tottenham, perhaps City can suprise us. Always a hope in football.!?
It doesnt seems brigth though. I agree OGS now must stick to his first 11 in future, he has given most people a chance to
Prove themselves by now.

For the life of me I can't see why Berget was brought in. I'd rather Mason or Maynard. The only signing I like is Daehli, got a feeling Cala will be a decent signing too

I agree. Still, Ole knows these players better than anyone and I believe he brought them with him more for their attitude and the hard work they lay down on the training ground. How many great talents have you not seen fading away because of lack of just that. But time will show. At least they could be sold with a little profit. I give them start of next season to convince me. Except for Daehli, of course. No one should doubt his talent.

I really don't understand why he doesn't start with mats. his been the dominate city player every time his been on the pitch. Start Mats as CM in a free role!

I hardly think bringing in Berget as a squad player is a big deal. It was pointed out that he was not brought in as a first team player, but as a squad player. So the expectation level is set where it should be.
It is more interesting if Eikrem is given a chance and how he develops. He most certainly could be a creative passing machine, and together with Dahlie they should be able to dominate possession against a lot of teams.

It is clear that Ole's philosophy is very much to develop players, giving them targets and building their confidence. We have to see in 1-2 years how much the young players have improved.

Kim is better than Dhaeli.

Re: The Norwegians 2

Tue Feb 25, 2014 12:28 pm

Mistakes by Eikrem have led to the opening goal in our last two fixtures. Can't see how he is an improvement to what we already have. He now seems to be in charge of set pieces despite players like Noone and Whittingham having far better delivery

Judging players this early in this context is ridiculous

Not when they are brought in to keep us up, it isn't.

Maybe we should have given Cornelias more of a chance?

Im sorry mate! Ole said out loud, these are not the players that will keep us up! You keep insisting on bringing false info.
Berget was rewealed as a squad player, and if my info is right they payd aprox 400k for him...

400k backroom gossip, but it might be a low as 200k. With a value that much higher, its not much of a brainer is it?

Re: The Norwegians 2

Don't know why everyone is so quick to write off Berget, we've hardly seen him yet. Had some good touches against Wigan & Hull but obviously a bit rusty given his last games were the end of October/November.

You are right about Ole, given time I am sure he will do a good job.

Gave you the link didnt i? Read the article will you?

“There are loads of players I have wanted and had a look at, but then you get the price tag which is not realistic.

“Some players choose not to come to Cardiff and some want bigger things, but the Norwegians are capable of playing in the Premier League.

“They are going to succeed in England. These three are not ones we expect to come in straight away and take the Premier League by storm straight away but they have cost more or less nothing so they are for the future.

Re: The Norwegians 2

Tue Feb 25, 2014 1:37 pm

So he didn't say that these aren't the players that will keep us up then. :laughing6:

Who's the one bringing wrong info again?

"Are capable of playing in the premier league" - well in that case then, they should be able to keep us up, otherwise they aren't capable... :thumbright:

Daehli looks the real deal, Eikram so-so & Berget I've only seen play against Wigan, so unfair to judge on one game.

Re: The Norwegians 2

Tue Feb 25, 2014 1:38 pm

They were brought in to fill gaps on the cheap. Im not sure what people really expected from them. Its the big money signings we should be looking at on why we are struggling 12m Medel, 8m Cornelius, 8m Caulker. Not the three who prob cost less than 1m between them all.

I think Wolf has done pretty well, its a shame he messed up agaionst Hull as I thought his general play was very good.

Berget I havent seen much of

Dæhli is a good signing, be it now or for the future.

“I am 100 per cent sure they will do well in the Premier League.

“Berget is a forward, only had four or five months left on his contract, so he came on a very good deal for us.

“He knows the way I want to play He is strong, very intelligent and clever and scored against England in the under 21 European Championships. He will do well for us.”

Read it, he says he doesn't expect them to take the league by storm, nothing about them not being ones to keep us up.

"so they are for the future." is probably the quote to take most notice of.

Which isn't what "Pete" said Ole had said.

Whilst Daehli is undoubtedly one for the future, I have no doubt that he can help this current squad in the relegation battle.

You are having a piss right? You cant be this thick!? Ole said that in a tv interview, and pretty much is saying the same thing in this article. Im not going to spend time finding back that interview if you cant work it out on this article.. It wont help either way would it? :notworthy: i have no clue if he is good enough, but what said is just plain wrong!

True but it's the gist of what he was trying to say, perhaps he didn't know the literal quote.

I agree that Daehli is an asset this season as well as the future, though I think as an impact sub as he appears to be a bit lightweight.

Nothing in the articles you provided does it back up your claim of what Ole said.

Re: The Norwegians 2

He is lightweight, but so are all the great Spanish midfield players. If close control is good enough it is hard to take the ball away from him no matter what his weight is. It's more about giving him positive experiences and build his confidence rather than overusing him since he is so young.
