OUR ATMOSPHERE AND US FANS.

Mon Feb 24, 2014 8:52 am

The atmosphere at our games lately both home and away is simply appalling.

Instead of getting behind the team when they are in desperate need for support the only songs we sing are We'll always be blue. David Marshall why haven't you scored, which in my eyes is a pathetic song and is not in anyway encouraging the team.

Im all for returning for blue etc but instead of slagging off Tan etc cant we ALL just get behind the team for a change and give them the encouragement they are looking for as a dire atmosphere certainly affects the teams performance without doubt.

Its not all over yet. So us fans need to make an effort along with our players and if thats not good enough then so beyit at least we tried.

Keep the faith. :ayatollah:

Exactly, our support has been embarrassing, home and away of late. The youngsters in the canton need to be led , time for a rallying of the support for last lot of games.

Re: OUR ATMOSPHERE AND US FANS.

Mon Feb 24, 2014 9:33 am

And the love in with away supporters has to stop.
Lets get away from the rebrand for the remainder of the season if possible and as you say get away from the boring rebrand songs, their not doing the team any good.

Re: OUR ATMOSPHERE AND US FANS.

Mon Feb 24, 2014 10:37 am

my take is...we will always be blue is unoffensive and should the players take anything from that chant it could only be pride and solidarity............and the vast majority join in
all the other negative stuff, half our fans look at the skies and there goes the atmosphere AGAIN.
the marshall song.tan is a wanker song, and the peadophile jack song..KILLthe atmosphere.. but those chanting know best so eh oh..all that hull city garbage was just that..their fans supported their team, gave our players a hard time, and would throw in the occasional youll always be blue ..........they took the piss more than any visiting team EVER has.
where has hostility gone?

Nobby, my honest opinion is that fans are being led the wrong way, yes we all want blue, yes the situation regarding the ownership of the club is getting to everyone's back teeth, but they are all simply jumping on the bandwagon. Its forums and places like Twitter that has ruined this club, fans screaming for blue when all they do is stay in the concourse to watch the games because they are not happy.

If the club are truly thinking about reverting the re-brand, that will happen naturally and personally i would hop a statement is made by the club to increase confidence and belief. In the meantime every person with a seat i that stadium should being singing to the team, like we all did against Manchester City. Yes we've lost Malky, yes there are new players in, but in the past 6-8 weeks, we collectively are not interested about the team on the pitch, the fact that all of them are at there lowest ebb and need the fans to help, Instead we boo off Peter Whittingham and treat the current set of players like mugs.

Your right, Saturday was one of the worst displays in recent times, but we as fans didn't help one bit. We simply sang songs that made the atmosphere a pretty daunting place to be if you worse that City shirt. Why cant we unite as fans? why cant we simply forget the re brand for a few weeks to get the place jumping again. I honestly think most fans have simply given up, and have looked and seen any excuse not to simply support this club.

I'm 35, and to be fair, the 92-93 season was one of my all time favorites, they were my hero's. I had posters on walls of the players, a full on junior bluebird. The atmosphere at NP was outstanding, stands singing to other stands, the manger Eddie May was worshiped by everyone, it was the same with Malky but times have changed, owners and the demands of football have changed.

I just hope things change in the next few weeks or I think the fans are partial to blame.

Good post again.
Nothing wrong with the always be blue song. The others especially the peado jack song is pathetic. From other parts of the ground & from on the tv it just sounds like we're copying the jacks with Hymns & Arias!

Its been like that for many years.

First sign of things not going well the fans turn on the players. Its sad but the club has very few supporters.

Fans shouting constant abuse at players doesent help

Re: OUR ATMOSPHERE AND US FANS.

I agree. Our fans weren't supportive at all against Hull. The "we'll always be blue" songs were loud when we sang them, but that the only song that ever got loud. Some fans singing "bring back Mackay" when Hull went 4-0 up, booing the players etc, disgraceful. We're not there to watch entertaining football, we're there to support our football club.

Fulham away was bouncing but Arsenal away was quiet as the home games...

bring back standing - please for the love of god bring back standing!

Standing = atmosphere.

Atmosphere = bouncing stadium

bouncing stadium = players responding

players responding = better on field performances

better on field performances = bouncing stadium

The supporters have had the stuffing and pride knocked out of them! and it's all been inflicted by the owner and our own club/board for letting it happen. There is very little belief or indeed understanding from the supporters, in what it is, they are actually supposed to be supporting, these days. The vast majority probably 80%-90% are embarrassed for what the club stands for now. We can't sing any songs about the colour or badge that our team play in, out there on the pitch, because we all know it's false, it's a charade. It was a struggle, last year, but many were willing to swallow their pride and give it a go, as we were all looking forward to the premier dream.
When other clubs supporters chant about us being an embarrassment etc, we can't motivate ourselves to sing back, as deep down, we all agree with them

Can any supporter at the moment really sing "we're Cardiff City, Cardiff City FC, we're the greatest team in football the world has ever seen" with any sort of conviction or belief??? No, of course we can't. Feck me, we used to sing that, when drawing with Halesowen or Hayes, and really believe it! Most of our songs, historically, have always revolved around the colour Blue and the 'Bluebird', but I'm sure many now, just can't be bothered to sing and logically why would they? No one will never, ever sing anything that involves the colour Red or the Dragon, God forbid. So our options are kind of limited

I'm not saying that the atmosphere would be bouncing had the re-brand not happened, but I'm pretty sure it would be a 100% better than it is, at this present time.

It seems to me that a lot of supporters have got caught up with the different agendas that have grabbed their attention. This has put supporting the team and making our home ground a fortress a very poor second thought and for many, not even an issue at all.
Can I call you all back to the heart of football - once you're in the stadium, support the team through good and bad. The trouble is the support is divided against itself and others are apathetic taking no responsibility to step forward and make a difference on the terraces. Blame the plastics if you want but the problem is not with them. It's with those that have a voice, a passion and know how to support their team.
Come on guys get your act together and stop talking about bygone days and start making good memories NOW!

The man city game was only 6 months ago granted being first home game in the premiership was going to be special but the majority are the same fans who contributed to a great atmosphere then to what we are witnessing now. No one complained about plastics or anything then but let's be honest nearly every week since the club have made the wrong headlines and the fragile relationship between owner and most fans has deteriorated rapidly and this has become the main focus of the fans rather than pure and unequivocal support of the players. I am not saying this is wrong but not one of the main songs at the moment are about players, manager or team.

Re: OUR ATMOSPHERE AND US FANS.

I have been saying for a while now, that the atmosphere is dire! I will go as far to say in the forty plus years I have been supporting the city.everyone is getting too bogged down with the politics of the club.go one nil down and as far as some are concerned, its game over! What has happened has happened and we all have to carry some of the burden, for accepting the re-brand for whatever reason, but the players are the last ones to be blamed, they need the support of each and every one of us,no excuses, til the season ends.I for one will "scream and shout, and let it all out" as will.i.am says! C'mon all cardiff city fans lets create a cauldron of noise, and we can at least know,we did our bit.we are still the bluebirds, lets make it loud enough and clear enough to tan.and show our players how we can support our team.CCFC.

Very true, but to be fair it was New Years Day and I could hardly stand up so wasn't expecting much of an atmosphere especially as it was at Arsenal. Fulham was quality though :ayatollah:

OP is correct mainly, also we need all 4 corners of the stadium rocking. I sat in the Ninian last season and atmosphere was ok, I moved to canton to sit with mates and the atmosphere is mostly better, I look to the ninian and everyone is seated and silent. 'Do the ayatollah ninian!' About 100 ppl did it. PATHETIC! Family stand will always be quiet for obvious reasons. Grandstand is poor from what I see, but the boxes and so on will make it vaguely forgivable. But Canton still is not best, need to support the boys.

Staying til the end and chanting against Tan is better than leaving half an hour early because we're losing.

Why? Because a lot of fans chant against Tan?

The reason our atmosphere is shit is because too many fans just stand there quietly and don't make an effort. A lot of fans just go to be entertained and they're not being entertained they boo.
