' Three reasons to trust in Cardiff staying up despite Hull humbling '

BWIN Betting

Many will view Cardiff’s 0-4 home loss to a Hull side that they led in the Championship last term as the moment they shifted from drop probables to certainties, with odds of 2/7 supporting that view.

However, as Match of the Day hit the airwaves, they remained only three points from safety with 11 matches left to drag themselves out of jeopardy.

Juicy odds of 12/5 are available on them evading the relegation quicksand, and with new bwin.com customers entitled to a £20 free bet on arrival, it could be a £48-earning move.

Here’s why towels shouldn’t be flung in quite yet…

There are seven teams within a six-point radius.

Prior to Swansea, Aston Villa and Norwich’s matchday 27 encounters, there are six points separating Cardiff in 19th with Swansea in 12th, a miniscule margin with 33 points still up for grabs.

Six weeks ago, it was West Ham in 19th as they arrived in the Welsh capital, but they have since leapt into the top half, seven points clear off the bottom three, to show how quickly fortunes can change.

Cardiff face another five fixtures against bottom-seven companions.

Almost half of the Bluebirds’ games are against fellow relegation zone protagonists, and three of those at the Cardiff City Stadium, affording them plenty of opportunities to bridge the gap.

Crystal Palace are the sole club 14th or lower to have defeated the 2012/13 Championship winners this season, with the other six such showdowns yielding three victories and three draws.

They have won two of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first five away ties.

Before Solskjaer stepped into the dugout, Cardiff’s away figures since promotion read two wins in 12 attempts – at Accrington and Fulham.

Under the Norwegian, they have already triumphed at Newcastle and Bolton, while two of the three that they came up short in were always long shots at Manchester City and Manchester United.

A renewed vigour for road combat is ideal as, in addition to visiting fellow strugglers West Brom and Sunderland, they travel to Everton, Southampton and Newcastle – decent teams, yet ones with potentially little left to play for.

Straws and clutching spring to mind. Our two wins came in the cup which does not really count. We are completley our of form which is a slight hiderence in our survival bid. We can't score for toffee. We can't defend.

Sorry I'm not sharing your optimism.

unfortunately, I have seen very little to suggest that we have the quality and the fight to stay in this league, since OGS took over.

Signings are no better than players we alreay have, doesn't know best starting 11, cant keep a clean sheet and can't score at the other end.

Matches are drifting by and points lost. It'll be 5 wins needed in 5 games before long!

Just saying as it is.
