Phil Thompson hit the nail on the head on Soccer Saturday (before the game, as it happens), when he said every referee gets some form of punishment for bad decisions except for Howard Webb. The guy is untouchable just because FIFA blow him

i used to think he was a good Ref, he was blatantly biased in the Reading play off game at home against us too. Craig Noone was assaulted in the box yesterday and he just shook his head

and not just by one, but two defenders. Shocking decision and Campbell went nuts trying to point that out to him while Webb got all pally with the Hull keeper.

I posted last night, anywhere else on the pitch he gives free kicks, I used to believe he called it as he saw it. After one of the incidents yesterday he tries to make up for it by giving us a free kick for a foul on Cowie which wasn't.

It's the laughing and joking between the referees and our opposition after these calls that creases me, Webb yesterday, Foy against Villa & Probert at Anfield stick out in the memory where we've had a couple of clear penalty decisions denied.
Then because Webb has had a tough time recently due to some recent howlers, MOTD choose to not show any of the decisions to keep him out of the spotlight.
