I'm hearing and reading a lot of talk that the Prem isn't all it's cracked up to be and that we'd be better off in the Championship.
I agree with this to the point that I'd rather be blue in the Championship than in our current situation - a shambolically run red club, sacrificing our identity and tradition just to be at the top level.
HOWEVER - I don't agree with these fans when they say they'd rather Cardiff were competitive in the Champ than struggling in the Prem.
What is the point in that? We'd be back to where we were about 4 years ago - hovering around the play offs every year but not quite good enough to make it. Yes, we'd be a competitive Champ team but why would you want to limit our club to that, and go no further? Surely the whole point of a sports team is to compete aginst the best and win things, rather than amble along year after year in mediocrity as long as you have a day out and a bit of banter once a week?
I remember fans being critical of the team under DJ for not having any ambition or bottle - why go back to those days?
What I'm saying is, yes - I understand and agree with those who want our identiy back, rather than sell our soul to be red in the Prem. However, I don't agree with those who want us to sail along in the top 6 of the Championship because we look better there than at the bottom of the Prem...
