TODAY'S TEAM AND PERFORMANCE

Sat Feb 22, 2014 8:01 pm

I believe that if Malky was still in charge today we would have managed a scrappy had fought 1 -0 win We would have been tight, organised and played with passion,we would have shown Hull that we weren't going to surrender our Premier league status without a massive fight. Sadly we have become a "soft touch",a rudderless ship without a captain There is no midfield general with premiership experience to dictate play and help others around him.The players don't know what to do when they have the ball, get in each others way and lack any sort of cohesion and direction,we are not an organised unit anymore. We have massive problems as the current squad would not even be able to mount a challenge in the Championship,if people think we'll bounce straight back up then they're deluded.Hull, an ordinary team, were there for the taking big time. These are the teams that you have to beat to stay up,the result says it all,we are so open it's unreal and of course the passion and desire has now deserted the players, good players at the start of the season have now been dragged down to new depths. What a massive difference in form the current team's level is compared to the one that started the season under Malky. I honestly cannot see where the next point will come from let alone three, in fact i'm not sure if we'll get another point this season and i really mean that. When you're unable to beat ordinary teams at home then you've got big problems,i really hope Ole can turn it around but it would need a miracle now. The man needs help with someone who has a wealth of Premiership experience, why doesn't Tan get Mike Phelan in on a short contract until the end of the season,it's worth a go,look what Pulis has done at Palace.

I totally agree. We have been open and vulnerable since Malky went and it doesn't seem we have the passion or guts necessary for a relegation battle anymore. Hull should have been expecting to come up against a team scrapping for their lives yesterday. Instead, we must have teams looking forward to playing us knowing we are there for the taking.

As i said yesterday due to the importance of this game Hull should have gone back yesterday knowing they had been in a battle minus any points. What we have now is a squad of soccer mercenaries who don't wear the shirt and and only turn up for their wages every week. We need a disciplinarian and "characters" in our squad, players with big hearts who will fight to the death. It was the same last week against Wigan, we should have battered them and litterally thrown the kitchen sink at them but we don't have that passion or desire any more. How tragic .......... over to you Mr Tan.
