A forum for all things Cardiff City

I walked through the city centre last night, and for the first time in my life I was scared & also ashamed to be Welsh.
I am glad my mother never witnessed what happened. A few posters last week told horrific stories of getting head-butted by Rugby fans & of the violence that surrounds 6 nations matches. The French were apperntly tooled up with baguettes laced with Garlic and were 'up for it' by all accounts.
The police totally lost control of the situation last night, some of the songs crossed a line, the women became more accessible to the hoardes of drunk gatherers who would not leave the city centre causing mayhem at every bar they encountered.
How do they get away with this behaviour? I want police legislation to be dished out to every sports fan & not just football fans.

Before the match, one of these brutes flashed me, I could see his pubes & about a third of the shaft. I called it in as a non-emergency police call, but they did not take my accusation seriously
I want the police to exercise section(s) 14a, 14b to counteract the Rugby fans who's sole intention is to cause trouble & to use surveillance techniques to dossier the Rugby fans who are high risk of causing down-right anarchy.

propositioned by a mother & daughter, wasn't havin any of it.

in all honesty i really don't understand how getting hammered at a rugby, having a scrap, a kebab and throwing up is glorified in the national (welsh) media as a welsh tradition, with no harm done as everyone loves the rugby

Really don't get rugby. At all. Some of the things people wear I wonder why they would walk out of the house with it on. If they wore some of the shit down Canton they would get a slap! But it's all ok to look a tw*t apparently

I was out all night, didn't see one fight.
Thousands of French singing their hearts out but it was all in good humour.
All in all it was a great night.
A friendly atmosphere, who ever came up with that idea?!. Maybe if you didn't go to places like walkabout you wouldnt see the dicks wearing daffodils. I sometimes go to a veteran army mess by owain glyndwr and the tradition is great. I think that is what it is anyway.

Have you any idea how welsh rugby fans like these are perceived elsewhere?
Usually thought of as stupid and "messers." Admittedly, they are the minority.

Wonder how many of the 70+ thousands well travelled welsh rugby supporters will be at Parc-y-Scarlets for the Edinburgh game today at 14:30pm?
Then again, wonder how many of them are even aware there's a game on at all?

You can't say shit when welsh football gets absolute shite crowds.

I was at the game last night and it was all good, the French took the defeat well in fairness and I didn't see any scraps or any wrongdoing.

I think I can.
I have spent money to watch my regional football side as well as my national side.
I do not attend national welsh rugby games.
If I did,I would also attend welsh regional games.
The state of the regional games clearly indicate there is not around 70,000 odd supporters attending matches every weekend.
For that matter the vast majority of Rugby supporters are plastic.

No they aren't. Just talking cap now aren't you?. If you actually talk to a few of them you'd realise they know a lot about the game.
There are plenty of retards at Cardiff games that have zero knowledge of the game.
Cardiff houses plastics now mate, I'd get used to it

The jealousy towards rugby in some of these comments is making a few people sound like right pricks, fair play!

Plastics are everywhere FFS not just in rugby. Look at football fans for example cardiff and swansea now sell out every home game from being in the prem, Was it like that in division 2 for each club? No far from it

I don't think it is a question of jealousy from football fans towards Rugby fans I enjoyed Wales win last night as much as anyone, I also wanted England to win today to give Wales a chance to win the 6 nations.
It is about the different treatment by authorities towards Rugby fans and Football fans.
