Theory On Return To Blue...

Sat Feb 22, 2014 1:21 am

One theory I have thought about why tan may end up doing a u turn and return us to blue and that is this...
Tan wants to sell us on to a big money investor yes?
Well obviously a new buyer would want to have a good look about what the club they are buying is all about and what they are buying and investing in to surely..
Well if they see a club that are mixed up like a weird red circus, where all the fans still wear blue and want to be blue then really for an investor looking in then that club kind of looks like a mess really imo and doesn't really look a good and attractive investment.
But if tan turned us blue again that would solve all the problems and then make us an attractive club to invest in due to the whole club being as one and all the fans united and behind the cause instead of being in red and all messed up and fucked up...
What do you think of this theory do you think tan could be thinking this now after the red plan hasn't worked as planned?
Who wants to invest in a red messed up circus????

You raise a very valid point. If our club was for sale then Tans rebrand would be likely to put off any potential purchasers. There is no history and tradition associated with the rebrand just one mans warped red vision. I suppose its a bit like trying to sell your house, If you painted the inside a more neutral colour then it would appeal to a greater amount of purchasers but if you painted the inside a horrid red then it would be less attractive. Another point is that most of these money men have large egos and anyone purchasing our club and turning it back to blue would immediately gain a god like status amongst the City fans. :ayatollah:

It's a very good point. Any businessman who looks into it in any depth would not be impressed by the divisions. It's a barrier to making money and that's all that counts with these sorts of investors.

Any potential new person will look at the books.

I suspect our merchandising sales have been actually a lot less than forecast.
Fans staying away in the 1000's

First only year in premier and club sales in bits.

Tan may have to be a reluctant blue. His love of money and business pride at stake.

Saying that, billionaires can do what they want unfortunately......

3 points makes all sorts of differences, come on city :ole:

Good post but whilst in our eyes the 'red plan' hasn't worked, we don't know what goes on in Tans business & financial world.
One thing he is not is a fool.
