We got a 1.4 TDCI and it's cheap as chips to run. The missus loves it, £20 quid a year road tax too.

Thinking of getting a second hand nearly new fiesta. Diesel is cheap on tax. Never driven a diesel. Is there much diffetence. I don't do many miles a year? What year did the new fiesta come out?

The TDCI is a bit more nippy than the petrol, think they first came out on a 58 plate.

Buying a diesel is pointless unless you do a lot of mileage.
EGR's get blocked with constant pottering around town, so need a good run a couple of times a month to keep them clean.
Get yourself a petrol. The smaller engine size will get you the same mileage you'd get from a diesel if you're a 'potterer'.

I have a ford fiesta zetec s. Its brilliant.. on motorway your looking at 50-60 mpg. 0-60 in 9 seconds for a 1 litre thats impressive. Does 115mph easy on 4000 revs
