Just wondering if a campaign to get the University of South Wales to take back Tan's honorary degree could be an idea..?

Why would they do that?

They gave it to him after the rebrand, anything he's done since then pales in comparison.

I know they did but there was no campaign about it then so the rebrand plus the other things in which he has done since could all bought together as one issue. I'm sure even the most anti-football fan within the University would have a much better idea about him after all the bad publicity since promotion.

What bad publicity?

He's sacked a manager, happens every month in the premiership.

Whatever self-righteousness the other fans in the division felt because they'd heard Malky called a good manager on Match of the Day has been replaced by self-righteousness over Laudrup or Meulensteen by now.

Happened with Clarke, Adkins, Di Matteo, Hughton, Sparky and many more before them.

Yes he sacked the very man who would have kept the club in the Premier league which would have earned the local economy millions yet he cost the local economy millions so why on earth should he still have an honourary degree from the local University..?

More to the point. Why the f**k did they give it in the first place. Embarrassing attemp to get their hands on some of his dirty money? Can't recall any universities in South Wales giving one to a far more successful football chairman based out west.

his anti tan agenda does not allow him to see the wood for the trees wez. the cheques were personal ones not from cardiff city.
tan has signed up to the same agreement as bill gates to give half his personal wealth to charities.

Yes they can as recently demonstrated by the withdrawal of Jimmy Savilles. However evidence would have to exist as to to a serious undermining of the values for which the award was given. If Tans was given for his local charity donations for example then he has not really done anything in this area to justify the award being taken away. Certain universities operate differing criteria so as an example take a look at how Edinburgh do it. http://www.docs.sasg.ed.ac.uk/AcademicS ... drawal.pdf

Considering all he has done charity wise worldwide he is a fantastic bloke. The world does not revolve around CCFC.

Well if that is the case then why did Mehmet Dalman state at the time: “I am given to understand this is the first time a Premier League club has elected to make regular donations of this nature and, if that is indeed true, I am very happy and proud to be a part of it" ? http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/foot ... an-5679540

The reasonis because he has loaned the club for the charity work

They wont remove it, he spent money building a new academy building on the sports park in Treforest, the club have also forged very close ties with the University with coach education. They also take advantage of the sports science facilities at the university to monitor and evaluate the players within the academy system. This type of affiliation will give kudos to the university and will be looked upon favourably by potential students and touring teams who look to use the facilities
