nathan blake - isnt it about time he shut his mouth?

Mon Feb 17, 2014 10:06 pm

[Ole come in to do a job an the guy is knocking him down he is trying to get a response clearly homesick and unsettled thats why he wants the norwegians most likely partly.
he reads papers talk about making the guy feel unwelcome. Why doesnt he fk off and stick to radio where nobody listens cares or remembers. Unless hes gona say something uplifting

What is annoying is he has been judging our managers week in week out etc why don't he go into management and give it a go, can deal with a pundit giving opinions on managers but he goes on and on, go and give it a go Mr brains.

My perception of blake is he is just a washed out lazy ex player with nothing better to do than slag off peoples work.
he was quick enough to leave when the offer came in to leave cardiff.
now his careers done he is bsck trying to make a packet off the back of papers and radio

He was on a week to week contract at the time, Rick Wright was quick to accept £300k that Sheff Utd offered us

He's paid to give an opinion no different to any other pundit out there

You listen to pundits? Or read their columns?

I'll listen or read most pundits views....unlike the majority of us they have actually played at a level we could only dream of

I like Blakey tbh, he was right about OGS not knowing his best starting 11 & questioning why we needed 2 holding midfielders against Wigan at home. Eikrem & Medel have no intention of bombing forward and hold there position.

If you really think that it attacking football from the new 'brand' well I would consider that it's quite negative actually.

I streamed the game, I didn't complain at the time. I think we just miss Mutch more than I thought we would, he is able to move through the pitch with his energy levels & doesn't play deep. We have 3 DM's (Medel, Gunarrson, Eikrem) even Whitts plays deeper than he ever has in his career....A serious problem with balance to the midfield area when it's only Mutch & Kim who are any good playing CM/AMC & Kim debatable at that.

Its a weak area for us. Dælli will be the man for the job next season.

I think that is a pressing to low issue, and im exited for the hull match! Watched them again last night, and they leave space in midfield for more movement. I think the point was to get medel deep, eikrem box/box and AM high. Maybe Medel can press higher with Cala in team when he is fit.. Very exiting game this week  And i agree with OP. 45 minutes of negativity
on that show..

In the job he's doing, If he said nothing, he'd get the sack. Pundits are paid to air their views.......and Blakey is a fan so he's only saying what lots of our fans are saying.
I dont see a problem with anything he's said. He said pre-season we'd struggle, and we have.
Lets be fair, there hasnt been much to praise us for has there?

Thats true, there is always the next game to concentrate on & exciting too!!. Whats in the past is past & the squad can't be altered with now. This season a player might go down in folklore as the man who saved us from the drop & OGS might be the man to address the squad imbalance in the summer  Medel could be allowed to play higher up the pitch, win the ball & get the ball to the forwards quicker. Southampton play a high-pressing game, be interesting what tactics OGS employs next season. :ayatollah:

i thought Eikrem did ok,and didnt see what Mr Blake saw either....played box to box...Ole doesnt know his best 11....well who would, he has brought 7 in and had about 30 players already here with the loan players back when he took over.plus the way he would like to approach games is poles away from our previous managers approach.its a big transformation and very limited time to do it..way too early for Nathan to be critical.

He can voice an opinion about a poorly performing manager, as you can voice an opinion about a poor pundit.

Quote James Blunt "Opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one and they can be pretty ugly."

Just get on with it, not everyone is going to agree.

I agree! He is entitled to any opinion, but i just think he is wrong. Im pretty sure ole know what is his first eleven. But i think ole works in first sixteen, and is very focused on squad depth. I also think he is all about building player confidens, and the way he put Witts and Turner straight back after a bad match shows you that. I also think it is pretty transparent the way they want to play football, and cant understand why that is difficult for Blakey to see. The way i see it, the attacking fullbacks are not working, pressing game isn't working (i aggre with Blakey on that) Playing speed is to slow, and passing is bad. But i don't share his opinion that it`s being neglected. They are working, and Blakey aren't doing any favors. Pundit, legend or supporter.. Still 36 points up for grabs.. Thats the way my arse feel though..And i dont think wigan match was that bad. :ole:

Good pundit?

He bangs on about managers 24/7 and nothing about players barely.

Would love to see him to go into management because he clearly thinks he knows everything.

2 out of 3 anyway

when Malky arrived pretty much everyone thought it would take him a year to find his feet, and he should be given a years grace
and that was with more or less a blank canvas ......10 or so players...and tbh most he made use of, the rest ,he brought who he wanted.........and had a full pre season.
Ole has to fix things on the run, has 30 players who he had never seen before, lots of decisions to make and not much room for error........doesnt know his best 11 says Nathan..you only have to read the views on this board to figure how easy a job this best 11 thing is............Mardhall. Caulker..........and after that everyone thinks differently ..
i wish he would be more positive........most ex players that get jobs in local radio are far more supportive ,especially 6 weeks into a managers tenure
