viewtopic.php?f=2&t=136434&p=1418268#p1418268I posted the same yesterday. I think he could
Mon Feb 17, 2014 9:27 pm
Definitely worth a puntt
Mon Feb 17, 2014 9:53 pm
Might be an opportunity To play a 4-3-3 - we have nothing to lose at this point
Marshall
Fabio, caulker, turner, john
Eikrem, Mutch
Daehli
Noone, zaha
Campbell
Might see this attacking football we have been promised then
Mon Feb 17, 2014 11:04 pm
No - I'm sure I saw Cala making some passes forward on Saturday!

No, lets stop playing this rediculous formation
Back four with a minder in front of the two centre backs???
Why?????????, cant they tackle themselves
I don't mind having a holding midfielder but not an extra body between the back four and midfield
This is way to defensive, curtails out attacking prowess and leaves massive holes in midfield,
especially if we play two upfront. This was our main problem last Saturday.
Ole is a nice bloke and I won't run him down but I wonder about his coaching ability at this level.
keep the faith.......
Tue Feb 18, 2014 2:20 pm
marshall
mcnoughton
caulker
turner
john
cala
eikram
no one
zaha
deilhi
cambell
that's in a 4 4 1 1 formation deilhi in a free role behind cambell
also this is assuming mutch is still out injured

I'm not sure I want anyone to play Medel's role, even Medel! We have changed our system to accommodate a defensive midfielder who sits just in front, and sometimes behind, the back four. I'm all for changing systems to accommodate a more attacking way of playing but not so that we can defend and lie even deeper than we did before. Lets try playing with 4 or 5 proper midfielders for a change....
Tue Feb 18, 2014 4:26 pm
ok, 4 or 5 midfielders who actually play in midfield then
Tue Feb 18, 2014 9:01 pm
think we should concentrate on trying to score goals
Tue Feb 18, 2014 9:25 pm
No. I'd much rather an actual midfielder play in midfield, rather than a CB that we don't even know can play there.

With you on this.

What the hell is wrong with you Chuckles dear?
You are far more childlike than usual.
Thu Feb 20, 2014 9:57 am
So you dont rate medel then chuckles
As you believe any one could play his role
Strange

More wild and incorrect assumptions.

Although you clearly don't rate Medel that highly yourself if you want to drop a CB in there that you don't even know can do it.
Thu Feb 20, 2014 10:29 am
You said anyone could play medels role
I saw enough of cala on saturday to be comfortable on the ball and his reading and positional play to be happy to play him instead of medel as he can also pass the ball
Makes no difference if his main position is cb or not
Please explain why you think he could not do a job for us other than being a centre back
And who do you suggest instead try and suggest someone who is in form at this time and not someone who was playing ok in the past

yes. Anyone could. Doesn't mean that they would be any good though.I saw enough of cala on saturday to be comfortable on the ball and his reading and positional play to be happy to play him
thankfully, you aren't our manager. You were also happy to put Gestede in a combined best Cardiff/Swansea XI... Think that says it all.
instead of medel as he can also pass the ball
think you'll find all footballers can pass. Part of the job description.
Makes no difference if his main position is cb or not
it definitely does. He won't be used to playing that role, whereas dedicated midfielders will be.Please explain why you think he could not do a job for us other than being a centre back
who said he couldn't? All I've said is that I would rather an actual midfield play in a midfield role against a relegation rival, not a newcomer who would be totally alien to that position. And who do you suggest instead try and suggest someone who is in form at this time and not someone who was playing ok in the past
As I've already said. An ACTUAL midfielder would be a good start.

As usual total bollocks not answering the main question
You say a midfielder well please tell who this mysterious player could be in our squad
Or are you still on fantasy island

I answered every single one of your points.
Yes, a midfielder. Hardly a mystery to play a midfielder in midfield.
For me, Eikram.

an actual midfielder who has played in midfield for Cardiff City amongst the players already & isn't going to be thrown in at the deep end.
Thu Feb 20, 2014 10:49 am
Fantasy island? That's rich from someone who said Gestede was the best striker out of both Cardiff & Swansea squads.

What about you lying about a certain F1 driver Chuckles dear. You have the balls to rip others apart at every opportunity until they claim you then you vanish!
Your bullying days are over Chuckles dear, You made my life a f*cking misery on here for months with your PMs etc. Just because I said I despise grasses after your dirty deeds. You are an immature childish attention seeker who just HAS TO HAVE HIS OWN WAY or else you flounce off for a week or two. Well "Flounce off"
Rant over.

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/cala/ ... 67089.htmlSeems that he's played there at some point in his career. Who knows when though. As from what we saw, he can pass, looked ok under pressure, quite tough. So yeah he probably could.
But given our squad it'd be far better to have Eikrem, Cowie/Gunnar and Dæhli in a three with Jones up front. Seems like that's the sort of route Oke was looking to go in the last game.
So yeah he could in a serious injury crisis, but Cowie, Gunnar, Eikrem, Mutch probably eaten Whitts would all be ahead of him in the list.
