' Cardiff City's attendances this season/missing fans '

Mon Feb 17, 2014 3:07 pm

The other day I said City had up to 4,000 fans that were season ticket holders that had not turned up and as we know they are still accounted for in the attendances when its announced. I was wrong that day, there were just over 3,000 missing.

Well Ive spoken to the Club and this season there are on average so far 4 to 5% of fans not attending so far, that are season ticket holders etc.

At the start of the season when we had all the big name clubs coming to our stadium, there was less than half a % of fans missing and on a couple of occasions less than that again.

We have currently 22,500 approx Season ticket holders/Premier Seat holders etc.

Our % is actually very good I am told as many other Prem Clubs have 10% plus missing.

Arsenal have 14% missing on average so far this season.
Manchester United have about 12% missing.

Not far off. Hightest in the league I'm told.

I just wonder if they have a buy back scheme. They have at Man city. I know a ST holder there who sold his ticket on some website that is authorised by the club. He got something like £120 back. The website would have made as well.

Ian, I have friends who work in London that are West Ham and Arsenal fans and they work in beyond paid jobs such as the Stock market and they only go to about 8-10 games a season, they get the season tickets to guarantee their seats and honestly dont care about the money they have paid or shall we say lost.

That is still poor bare in mind it is our first season up there, I accept all fans have to miss odd games, I myself had to miss the Everton game because my daughter decided to get married in Vargas' but I did make sure my season ticket was used :ayatollah:

So we can stop talking about attendances and how Tan's actions are driving people away. Arsenal being top of the table for most of the season is really pissing off 14% of their fans.

Surely it's right though? Many have been driven away by his unnecessary rebrand.

One bloke in work told me he pays £1200 for his Arsenal season ticket but with that you get the first 8 cup games - whatever ones those may be, FA cup, league cup, champions league... But then yesterday someone told me they were paying £1500 at Arsenal a few years ago and have since not renewed... It's pretty expensive either way!

Not to start a re brand debate/argument. BUT if we were blue i think most of the fans that left us a last year would be attending most games
