Club Chairman

Mon Feb 17, 2014 1:35 pm

There has been a lot of talk from sections of CCFC's fanbase and football fans from other clubs regarding the lack of effort the Bluebirds faithful put into stopping Tan changing our kit from Blue to Red.

This on hindsight is true to a degree in my opinion and I know opinions different vastly on this.

What I am interested in though, is that those fans who say "we've sold our soul for Premiership football" etc etc.., do you honestly think the football fan has power to stop such changes?

Richard Scudamore recently said that changing a teams name should be seriously looked at but changing colours is "not the end of the world". If the chief of the PL is not bothered and wouldn't take action, what impact could the fans have?

Has all the bad press worldwide stopped Tan so far? On the contrary, it seems to have driven him on.

A perfect example for me is Newcastle and their troubles with Mike Ashley. What happened there? Nothing.

So why would it be any different if CCFC fans had put up a bigger fight? Why is it that the fans are at fault for letting it happen? What impact would having 15k at games be compared to worldwide ridicule in the sporting press? Would the revenue losses from reduced fan numbers really make Tan think differently?

The point I'm getting at is that the common fan is now powerless if the chairman is set on there plans, but at least CCFC fans turn out to support the club they love rather than turn there back on it.

Loyalty to the club proves CCFC fans are here to stay and can't be shaken off by Tan's circus.

This point as been raised before but hardly anyone on this board are interested in other clubs just what tan has done here, maybe its because its change of colour + badge that makes it worse but in reality you are right club owners do what they want and very rarely change minds unless absolutely have to! even theirs down road has something about him as managers seem to fall out with him after about one & half seasons and move on, i think they call it modern football! :old:

Correct Allan I am not interested in what happens to other clubs, I feel for them, but my main concern is my club Cardiff City
