support the boys. Cardiff songs only

Sun Feb 16, 2014 11:55 pm

There are lots of discussions on this site about the atmosphere or lack of it and like many on here would like it to be better but have not got the solution to the problem. One thing I've noticed the last couple of years is the routine of one song into another rather than the randomness and spontaneity of yesteryear. Also songs about the jacks are more frequent than before. Why can't we just sing about our club our players/ manager and really get behind our team for the full game. There have been times this season where we have temporarily forgotten about the off field shenanigans and backed them like we should do. We need to do this for the rest of the games because its evident some of the players need this lift. Some players feed off the crowd good or bad so our part as fans is crucial. Let's be the proverbial 12th man like the old days no booing our own. hostile as he'll to the away team, referee and officials. The fact we haven't had a penalty all season says it all we have become too nice to sterile. Whatever happens on saturday and through to the end of the season let us as fans be able to show the world that we might not look like the old Cardiff City on the pitch but they sound like it off it.

THE JACK SONGS.
it really really really pissed them off when we used to not sing anti Swansea songs.......this is a relatively new thing at Cardiff. a mate of mine { a jack } came to a game with me in 2004 and was stunned......not one single chant about them,he didnt say as much, but i know he felt slighted.

the tan is a wanker song.......KILLED DEAD the atmosphere in the Villa game.......there are a hell of a lot that refuse to sing it.....

Could here it to the side of me and it never took off totally but your right it nullified every other chant. If people want to display their feelings about someone they dislike be it tan or the jacks they are entitled too. However it's not exactly supporting our team. singing about Swansea when we're not even playing them as always bemused me. Surely a continuous chant of something like ole solksjaers barmy army or blue army is going to inspire the team more than the shitty Swansea City went to Rome or that Vincent tan song

Dear lord may the football gods look down upon us & have mercy. O my God, I trust in thee, let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Since when have chants not included banter mixed with an overswell of disenchantment with the way our club is run? Short memories. I always remember the 'Kumar out' chants when I first started atttending games and found them facinating, like the fans were in control somewhat of their club. If the fans showed the passion of yesteryear, we would be closer to closure on the mess we're in.

Not disagreeing with you what i said is there were as many songs being sung at the villa game about other teams or tan rather than our own. As for your entire condescending response about lack of passion in our past perhaps I am looking back through rose tinted glasses. But there was no way the atmosphere was as bad or the lack of variation in our songs in the days of low crowds and lack of success. All my post was trying to point out was sing songs about our team not Swansea is what supporting your team in my view should be about. Was only trying to be positive on a dark weekend for our club and am not pointing a gun against someone's head forcing them to sing a particular type of song. Just a suggestion nothing more

We can both agree the crowd should be chanting 90 + mins....Cardiff chants, anti-tan chants, Swansea jibes & every repertoire going :ayatollah: :ayatollah: passion!!

Hopefully it will be if the vibe from this forum was transferred to the stands there wouldn't be a problem. Passion for us and hostility for every away team to come down here to the end of the season is needed. Cardiff City at their snarling best

We continuously sing the same songs which I think some fans get bored of and they make no effort to sing any new songs that are started, and also it seems like the majority of fans are not enjoying the season at all so are not making any effort to even back the team.
shame really as everyone has been waiting so many years for us to be a premier league team.

i heard it too.put a dampner on the singing.and one of the swansea songs sounds like we are singing SWANSEA,which is emphasised in the chant

The best atmosphere this season was the man city game, if we could recreate that each game it would surely lift our players. This forum is ideal for sharing new songs and chants, so come on support our boys and share some songs.

Not turning this into a plastic newbie debate but perhaps a good percentage of our fanbase just don't know the old songs and need to learn. Classic example is the spelling out of c.a.r.d.i.f.f then what have we got cardiff what happened to kayarrdiff or however it would be spelt it sounded more like an unruly mob in the old days not a reception class in the infant school. " We're cardiff were barmy were off our "you know the rest, hardly ever gets sung. The series of slow claps then getting faster followed by blues. Not very challenging and easy to get going but hardly ever done anymore. Surely blue army or barmy army is the one chant that always travelled around the ground again easy. I know Vince and his drum split opinion but no one can disagree that it was definitely more livelier when he was there
