How will we replace medel for a few weeks ?

Any ideas ? :(

Gunnarsson ? Cowie ? Eikram ? Whittingham ? Filip kiss ? Change of formation ?

I don't think any of them are good enough to fill the role on there own , Gunnarsson is good with a partner next to him but gets lost when playing the lone role plus ole seems to like the 4-1-3-2

I think there is only one man in this squad capable of filling medels role and doing it to a acceptable standard .

People won't agree but that's Kevin mcnaughton .

He doesn't stop running , loves a tackle , will hassle players all day , and will win the ball . He played centre back a few years ago against sheff utd when we went down to 9 men at home and was immense . He has been in midfield a few times over the years as well and has always done a good job . His main problem in his full back position is he is starting to lose his pace now , that won't Matter in the defensive midfield role .

I'd play this defense against hull .

Doesn't really need to pass the ball he just needs to hustle the players and win the ball . Then a simple pass to the midfield like medel does . He is more than capable of that .
He gives 100% every game which is exactly what we need in that position , I can't think of anybody in our squad more capable of doing that job . Gunnarsson is better in a 4-4-2

Have you seen super kevs distribution ? Medel was hitting a 90% pass rate in his peak form. Super kev be lucky to get 50%. 1 thing i will say tho is that kev deserves his place in the team infront of that donkey french kev

We still have about as much chance staying up as we do without medel

If you knew anything about football you would know that the defensive midfield position is just an extension of the defence , a kind of inverted sweeper system . Mcnaughton is one of our best defenders positionally and fitness wise . If you had been watching city for any length of time you would have seen him play pretty much every position in defence and midfield for us over the years and never let anyone down . He is very adaptable and a defensive mid position would suit him .

Or do you have to have a foreign passport and 10 mill price tag to be able to play certain positions

No he's on loan to Ross county and playing really well by the sound of it . We could recall him if he's needed . We are short of players in the defensive midfield area

Been watching City for 20 yrs, long enough? Wot that has got to do with anything, I don't know?!
Mcnaughton wouldn't make a defensive midfielder as long as he ad a hole in his arse! He's a RB, DM is a specialised position, and to say he could slot in there is crazy. U clearly Avent a clue about football, never mind me.
Mcnaughtons distribution has never been the best, if u'd been watching City for any length of time, u would realise that.
I do agree with 1 thing, Mcnaughton has never let us down.
Very rarely comment on here but, seeing yr post makes me question wot people c in a game of football!

It wasn't a dig at length of time you've supported I don't get into that crap , even though reading it back it looks like that . The point was over the years he has played pretty much every position , he is very good positionally , a great tackler and has the energy to hassle players around the pitch for the whole game . He never gives up and always gives his all . He has every attribute needed to be a solid def midfielder .
His passing we can get away with for a few weeks if we use the other midfielder as the outlet rather than him .
If he played there I would have full confidence in him , way more than Cowie or Gunnarsson to be fair .
