Wigan had 4 attacks all game and scored twice. They had a shot across goal early on that just missed the far corner, their 2 goals, and a back post cross in the second half which was hooked back and Marshall clawed it out. I can't remember Wigan having any other attacks. We were by far the better team and played good football, but there was no cutting edge. Berget looked way out of his depth today and I was pleased Noone came on for him, but you have to wonder what's going on when we turn down a 1.5 million bid for Joe Mason, but never use him, or allow Maynard to go out on loan. I think even someone like Rudy would have scored today if he was playing.
Zaha was frustrating, he always overdoes it. After the Norwich game I was really excited by him, but his decision making and end product was abysmal today. Daehli had a superb game, what a talented footballer, he was the only player who looked like opening them up apart from Noone and Zaha (when he didn't over complicate things). I was also very impressed with Cala, he was solid enough defensively and looks a very good footballer. A number of times he carried the ball out to turn defence into attack.
But overall, today was very frustrating. We dominated, but the ball wouldn't drop for us. Unfortunately, we will always be chasing games under OGS, because we are now a soft touch. Today showed we have some good footballers, but we are no longer the organised unit we were under Malky. We are way more open and vulnerable now. Wigan had only scored 12 goals in their 15 away games in the league this season, yet they still managed to score twice against us. I don't think that would have happened under Malky and worryingly, we no longer look the organised unit with the guts and passion capable of grinding out the results required to avoid relegation.

Agree. We are a soft touch. Malky seemed to have a plan. OGS has good intentions. We know where they lead. The Norwegian League is like god Scottish League 2. OGS almost untried.
Sat Feb 15, 2014 7:17 pm
Teams are always a soft touch particularly when they concede goals at home, away teams always fancy their chances when this happens. We must get as many clean sheets between now and the end of the season if we have any chance of survival, personally i don't see us doing it as we are more offensive now and don't have the quality of players to carry out their required defensive duties,we've messed this season up big time.
Sat Feb 15, 2014 7:23 pm
We have been a soft touch all season. Ole will rebuild in the summer, ill judge him next season. After 3 transfer windows.

Disagree. Under Malky, I think every team knew they would be in for a tough game playing us, particularly at home. Under Ole, I get the impression teams look forward to playing us now, as we are there for the taking.

Our defensive record wsas just as bad under Malky. The players just looked like they ran more.....like headless chickens most the time

Lol, the Norwegian Tippeligaen is better than the Scottish Prem, except possibly for Celtic. Molde and Rosenborg are probably just as good as Celtic.

But we've just conceded 2 goals at home to Wigan, an average Championship team. Do you honestly think that would have happened under Malky?

In terms of revenue the top 4-5 teams in the Norwegian League are at about the same level as bottom half teams in the Championship. The bottom half teams in the Norwegian League are probably at League 1 level.

Where is all this bullshit about being tough to beat at home coming from? Are you guys watching the same team i am or is there another Cardiff teams forum im on?
10 Matches: 3 wins
Goal diff: 10-15
Shots on goal: 35
Shots against: 65
Corners for: 43
Corners against: 57
That is the stats from our home matches under Malky. Only 1 of the 10 games saw us go higher than 45% possession of the ball.
How the hell can you sit there and say that we were a rock solid team at home. We sucked arse and had one of the worst home statistics in the league.
Just because we won against City and drew against Utd doesn`t mean we were killers at home.
Wake up and leave the bubble you all live inside.

Molde knocked out Stuttgart and Heerenveen from the Europa League and the Norwegian U21 team lost the semi final in the championship against Spain.
Knocking out England on the way. SO dont underestimate something you dont know anything about.

Nah,keep the faith boys.Under malky I had to stick pins in my eyes to stay awake.

We hold the record of having the most ever shots against under malky v Norwich

not a stat we would be proud of, we were more than a soft touch under MM.

We got pelted by shots all game, total miracle we did not lose, they hit both posts and the cross bar. We hold the embarrassing stat of most shots conceded ever in prem history. Putting 11 men in the box all game to fill the net is not football, against Norwich of all teams, atleast Ole showed how to beat teams like Norwich.

An embarrassing stat is having the lowest points total of any Premier League club. Derby. An embarrassing stat might be the most conceded in one match - Other than that, stats don't cause embarrassment period

So according to some people, under Malky we were more like Wigan were today? I'd take that...

We are not the 1st prem team to lose to a lower league team

No I couldn't see us losing to Peterborough at home who were bottom of the championship

Your obsession with Malky is unhealthy. Yes Ole seems a little raw right now and some of his decisions have been questionable to say the least but to bring Malky up every time we lose is just sad.
We were NOT organised and hard to beat under him and that is a fact. We conceded 2/3 goals every other game which isn't right. We scored ZERO goals in total against;
West Ham
Aston Villa
Norwich
Palace
Stoke
Picking up two points in the process.
Fact is we were in free-fall under Malky, with our woeful form at the time with trips to Arsenal, City and United away to come up I doubt we'd have been in a better position than we currently are.
Malky is gone now, has been for nearly 2 months so move on and support Ole. Compare them after they've managed nearly the same amount of games not after Ole has had under 10 while Malky had over 100.

Spot on. The malky arse lickers are a joke, they need to get their tongues from his arse and support the new management. Malkys gone forever thank fuk, we will never have to watch ten men behind the ball and nick a set piece tactics again.
Sat Feb 15, 2014 9:38 pm
I don't even think we were the better team. We may have had more of the ball, but Wigan were more creative and made more of their chances. They did us, plain and simple. Which only makes it harder to stomach. Eikrem and Berget looked very ordinary. And that's being kind.

We only got the points we did under Malky because earlier in the season somehow every corner we had resulted in a goal! Thesedays we can't score off a corner or a free kick no matter how many we have... I guess we get lucky earlier in the season on theta front

The trouble with this league is that everything gets scrutinised..Early in the season we had success from set pieces, clubs soon cottoned on, and did their best to stop that..The premier league is a lot tougher, we`ve been slow adapting to it.
Look at Swansea, they suprised everyone in their first season, especially the first half of the season, but now teams now how to play them, and they are struggling too.

"Ole showed how to beat teams like Norwich"
You quote all the chances Norwich had and attempts on goal etc in the away fixture, yet the home game was no different!!
Take the blinkers off mate ,We were very lucky indeed to get anything from the Norwich home game and all that result did was paper over the cracks!!!
