fast forward 6 months and it turns out A-Corn was the biggest flop in prem since Marco Boogers and Tan/Lim are getting the blame for letting Malky sign him.
Using this logic a manager is never culpable for bad signings, only good ones.
People are so blinded by Malky and his fist pump and Tan and his rebrand they lose any sense of reality. MM had free reign and he spunked it.

I have never seen eye to eye with SAMs views but on this he is correct. If Malky is honest he got this player wrong. It wouldn't have mattered if he cost a minimal fee but it was a, get him at any cost scenario. Malky got it massively wrong.
Whether he should have been sacked for it, I'm not sure, in the end th style of play didn't help. Lim did all that was asked of him and if he had said no against the expert advice of the management team, we would have been complaining as he did not back the manager.

Personally I think Moody got it wrong.
Lim must take responsibility for paying so much and handing out a high salary for an unproven young player. The pressure was on him because of other interest. If Lim knew football he would have stopped the move with good reason.

This. I admire your passion for the club Annis, I really do, but as Craig says, your hatred of Tan is clouding your judgement on everything else. Tan and Lim fully supported Malky on his first season in the premiership by providing him with a transfer kitty that most other managers could only dream of. As we all know, they have no experience of football and have no idea how it works so trust was placed with Mackay who, when he realised he had all the money he wanted and no one to really stop him from spending it, was like a kid in a toy shop.
Tan and Lim should have had someone working above Malky, but as Craig says, this board would then be full of people claiming that they're undermining him. In fact, since the whole Malky fiasco, haven't we appointed Dave Jones as director of football? This would suggest that Tan has indeed learned his lesson from the whole debacle.
There's no two ways about it though, Malky's summer signings were dreadful and if we go down then they're largely to blame. I don't believe his bullshit excuses about how you need to spend 2-3x as much as 7.5m to buy a good premier league striker, look at Shane Long going to hull. Malky knows he's fucked up but he's too proud to admit it.

Funny Sam does not mention what he said to me, Malky should have a football man above him and there never was one to guide Malky.

Yes! The amount of money in the transfer kitty meant he needed guidance with it. His coaching skills were clearly excellent and proved by notabale achievements. The negative tactics were to protect the players at his disposal who were not quite good enough to be an offensively minded team.
I hope Malky goes on to have a great career like all fans should

Yes Luke but there are times when common sense comes into it regardless how much you know.
Tan has been at the club long enough to know that putting Bellamy a tried and tested product on £35K a week then an untested on £45k there should be questions asked. Surely even Lim should have brought this to Tans attention.
