Malky Malkay became Cardiff City Manager in the 2011/12 season.

2011/12 Season Carling Cup Finalists drawing with Liverpool at Wembley 2-2 and losing on penalties.
2011/12 Season Play off Semi finalists losing to the eventual winners West Ham.

2012/13 Season Runaway Champions of the Championship, Our first Major Title since 1927 and first manager to take us up to the Premier League in 51 years even with all the politics going on behind the scenes regarding our Identity.

2013/14 Season Premier League, Never in a relegation place and things only started to go down hill when Malky's boss started publicly slating him and going in the dressing room and also telling our manager how to manage.

Most were good but this business about Cornelius needs explaining.

I think it's quite damning that after signing 32 players only 8 are regulars in the squad now.

Premier League is way way above the class of the Championship. It takes at least 2 seasons to build a Premier League Squad

Even Ole was a massive admirer of Cornelius.

It's not past transfers.

It's the summer window when he had to turn out championship squad into a premiership squad. He wasted 35 million pound and didn't do it.

Steve Bruce spent much less and managed to do it.

You do not get promoted to the premier league and spend millions on a youngster from the Danish league and pay him 45k a week.

There's no point looking at who he signed in the championship it's a completely different kettle of fish. He prove he wasn't cut out for the premier league. He spent days ass licking Tom ince when it was plain to see too all of us he wasn't going to come here.

I don't understand why people list his signings made two years ago and mark them as a flop. Saw someone do it in another thread.

Of course the likes of Filip Kiss and Kenny Miller would be flops in the prem, but they weren't bought for the prem!

Year on year, the transfers Malky has made have served the club well. People were moaning about Mutch and Nooney both benched against the Jacks... Who signed them? Malky.

That's not quite true though is it annis, the first game of the season away to west ham we were dire, at home to everton we did not have one shot on target, we were dire away to crystal palace, aston villa , norwich and stoke, our first half performance at home to newcastle was another sub standard effort, these were all before tan and malky fell out.

SPOT ON Alex  :ayatollah:

Malky said Jordan Mutch would end up being one of his best signings in time

Malky never gave up till he got Craig Noone

How much are they both worth today?

There is nothing wrong with saying if a signing was good or bad at the time of signing for the position we were in the league at that specific time . A lot of his signings were flops , that is undeniable but he also made a lot of great signings .

To me the first game of the season was very important, (to lay a marker down so to speak) it was our first game at that level for 51 years and we were pathetic, yes man city was great along with a few other games but i was replying to where you said it went down hill after tan and malky fell out, we were dreadful in quite a few games before this happened.

I said in a previous post that I couldn't see the point in their statement, they weren't telling us anything we didn't already know and were just opening up old wounds. We can't undo what's done, but we can try and influence the future. One thing they can never change though, is our proud history.

Everybody keeps bringing up noone.

Why did it take him so long to get on the pitch. Didn't get a chance till the man utd game?

Caulker and Medel are the only improvements to our squad. Is KTC really that good?

Re: ' ALL MALKY MACKAYS TRANSFERS AT CARDIFF CITY '

Cardiff's best player this year has been David Marshall, last year it was Mark Hudson year before that Peter Whittingham. All Dave Jones signings.

Mutch is too injury prone to be worth much more than we paid for him at the moment and Noone has all the talent in the world but is inconsistent in that cannot produce it week on week.

Re: ' ALL MALKY MACKAYS TRANSFERS AT CARDIFF CITY '

Thu Feb 13, 2014 11:04 pm

Some decent signings to get us up with a couple of Premiership players in Mutch and Noone. Can't fault him for that, the football wasn't great but he did what was asked of him. It was always going to be tough to get quality players in during the Summer, Malky was young and unknown to overseas players and Cardiff were always considered to be relegation material so yes we had to pay over the top for Medel and Caulker. Cornelius was another thing altogether though. Malky and Moody should never have presented the player to the club for what it took fee and wages wise to get him here. It is of course possible he may grow into a good player, although I strongly doubt it, but we needed a striker ready for the Premiership now not someone who may turn out to be good in the future

Medel and KTC are.

KTC started off well, we all thought Malky unearthed a gem but after time we saw how poor he is as a defender and was eventually put behind the likes of Kev and Fabio recently.

Medel has had his moments where he ran the midfield but worth 11m? Not a chance. Defensive midfielder's shouldn't go for that much unless they are consistently good which Medel hasn't been.

Caulker is probably our only summer signing that had played well for the majority of the season and was value for money.

Not true. If you stay up in your first season, like the jacks, Norwich and Southampton did, then you've got a premier league squad. Otherwise you would have got relegated. Ideally it will be stronger after 2 seasons but you can go up, strengthen wisely and do the job.

His season in the prem and things going down hill had nothing to do with Tan, MM was doing a good job of that and we was heading for the relegation zone with him being our manager.

Watching the Southampton game, he had to go.

Camping on the edge of the area after 75 minutes will only get you so far.
