Keeper.
Vorm or Marshall?
My self I would say vorm, only because he has been doing it for longer.
They are very good shot stoppers and fantastic reactions.
Have to say Marshall's save last night edges vorms best saves.
Vorm has made many top saves were I thought how the fuvk did he get to that, but none are on a level then Marshall's last night.
So again my vote is vorm, only because he has been doing it for longer

If I had both at my disposal for the next match then I would select Marshall.
If I were a club with a choice of buying either keeper - id choose Vorm.

Hollands number 6
Hollands , Hollands number 6
Marshall all day long , worm had a great spell when he first signed but looks average again now . Marshall is consistently brilliant not just good so he edges it for me .

Marshall has always been a great shot stopper. He had a weakness over crosses and commanding his box but that has improved considerably in last 18 months. His weakness is his kicking but again that is getting better. I'd say that there is very little between the 2. I wouldn't swap him for vorm but equally I doubt that the jacks would want to swap. Both in top 5 prem keepers.

Difficult one.Marshall is a great shot stopper but so is Vorm.I can't decide.

On current form,it has to be Marshall! Absolutely on fire.that save last night was one of a number of worldy's that he has pulled off this season.vorm I do rate but based on current form Marshall for me.
Wed Feb 12, 2014 9:59 am
I would have to say on current form I would pic Marshall, but if I was another club looking to spend a few mill on a number 1 keeper I would go with vorm who has been consistent in the prem longer.

Marshall's been getting better game on game.
He's even starting to add a sweeping elemtn to his game which I never expected to see from him.
Vorm is better at penalties than him though

Marshall is doing ok...shot stopping is great. other aspects of his game, not so great...
have to say this cos its doing my head in................Scotland Scotlands number1. {which he isnt }.
but what country get ridiculed most for having shit keepers?
he is better than worm though.........loads of camera saves.......try moving your feet boy,,doesnt look as good catching it in chest, but youll find youll concede less
Wed Feb 12, 2014 11:44 am
after performances in the last 6 months i would be absolutely astounded if Marshall isnt picked in the next scottish match
Wed Feb 12, 2014 11:51 am
You say he is better then vorm, and if u go by the last 6 monthes then I would have to agree.
But agaun if a club is looking to buy a keeper in the summer at any cost I would say vorm would get the vote as he has been doing it for a lot longer in the top fligh.
Allso its worth mentioning that vorm has been out with injury for along spell and playing with injury up untill we was out.

I believe that if we'd had Vorm fully fit this season we'd be 5/6 pts worse off. However I think Marshall has been having one of those season's when everything is going well for him, I seem to remember Vorm having one the other season as well. Personally I think they are both good keepers along with another 6/7 of the same ability in the league. Wouldn't say either of them is truly world class but both equally capable of pulling off a world class save at times. If in the summer I had to buy one of them I'd choose Vorm simply because I don't think Marshall will have as good a season next year as he has this, but I'd really look for a better keeper than them both.
Wed Feb 12, 2014 12:33 pm
We would be worst off?
Sory dont agree with that.
But hey its yoir opinion.
Wed Feb 12, 2014 12:46 pm
Marshall by a country mile!
Wed Feb 12, 2014 1:10 pm
If thats your opinion then do explain.
Wed Feb 12, 2014 1:27 pm
Marshalls better then Vorm.
Smells less then Vorm.
Less likely to turn into a Heroin addict then Vorm.
Doesn't Cheat like Vorm either. How can the FA let a Goalkeeper play with six fingers on each hand it's rediculous.

I didn't even open this thread until now cos I thought it was gonna be another boring tit for tat thread, but I'm pleased that it looks quite a decent thread.
Bird is obviously a good keeper and kept you in a lot of games when him and krul were being talked about as the best keepers in the division but I must say that the only reason you can say that Marshall has only been good for the last six months is due to premier league exposure.
Last season he was every bit as good and was probably the main reason we got promoted. The same will be said IF we do stay up this year.
I thought he wasn't brilliant when Dave Jones was here but under Malky the improvement was immediate and incredible.
The guy has been unbelievable for the last 2 and half years.
So it's Marshall for me even though Vorm is an excellent keeper.

Vorm has been doing it in this division longer than Marshall because he's been in the longer!
Marshall has been quality last season and he was by far the best keeper in the Championship and kept 18 clean sheets.
Marshall for me all day, he isn't injury prone like Vorm.

Clean sheets arent indicative of a good keeper. Im not sure why so many say that. Dorus De Vries has our record clean sheets in a season and i think he was bad, now a reserve league 1 keeper.
If you put Petr Cech in the WBA side he would keep half the clean sheets he does, yet he wourldnt have got worse as a keeper.

you dont think the fact that DJ played a back 4 and Malky a back 9 contibuted?

He had some class performances, Leicester away, Huddersfield home, Charlton home, Millwall home, Huddersfield away, Watford away.

I honestly don't mate. That may been a major factor in us conceding less goals but not in the transformation of Marshall as a keeper.
Personally i think it was down to the change of goalkeeper coach, because his confidence and command of area (though it's still not perfect to this day) came on leaps and bounds.
Wed Feb 12, 2014 7:15 pm
I'm sorry I'm sorry, I just can't take Vorm being at a top level for longer, Marshall has kept clean sheets at the Nou Camp since the age of 19.
http://youtu.be/cGTzGYsOw-4Well not exactly but anyway I rate Vorm but currently Marshall all day, Vorm is an excellent keeper on his day.

Both very good, would be happy with either. Marshall has impressed me, I've wrongly doubted him in the past
Wed Feb 12, 2014 7:44 pm
Both excellent keepers.
Marshall has been in top form for a few seasons now, made more saves than any other prem keeper. The fact Marshall is younger as well would point me to him.

Meh, whatever. He was recently a reserve league 1 keeper and he is still a reserve keeper, thats all the fact you need.

I have to go with Marshall, and by quite a distance at the moment. I am a big fan of his and truth is he's always been a fantastic keeper but this season we are noticing it more as we are pretty much under the cosh all game. I think Vorm is good but is there a more injury prone keeper in European football? Seems to have long spells on the sidelines. Tremmel is a good keeper too although not on the same level as the other two.
Marshall is the best keeper in the premier league on form.

How you can even compare Vorn to Marshall is beyond me, Marshall all day long. Vorm even has a better defence in front of him
