If you go down can we have him please? Maybe a straight swap with Leroy Lita,he scores for fun in the Championship.

If we go down, even though Marshall has just signed a new contract, I reckon there will be many Premiership Clubs wanting him.

Annis, that save he made right at the death last night was one of the greatest saves i've ever seen. The bloke is a top top goalie. It was tongue in cheek my comment about us having him as I think he's destined for a top 4 club should you sell.

Goalkeepers tend to go through this for a season. Not many keep it up though.

Look at Vorm, Mignolet, Hart, Tremmel, Gordon, Kasper schmeics. - the list is endless really.

Hes in inspired form at the moment no doubt about that but hes not a top 4 keeper. Top 4 keepers are consistant for a career a la Petr cech. Marshall is approaching 29 and has only shown this level of form for the last 6 months or so.

Saying that, id take him for sure.

We'd already be down if it wasn't for Marshall. Still loads to play for. As I said at the time...that capitulation against Sunderland could prove vital.

29 is the perfect age for a keeper mate. He's no Petr Cech but I'm struggling to think of a better keeper than him right now.I'd have him ahead of De Gea for instance.

I agree with you.

Just making the point that it seems to be immense form rather than consistent performance. I remember the discussions on here pre season wondering whether he should be replaced with a new signing.

Aye fair point. And any keeper that comes under the amount of fire that Marshall has all season is going to make the occasional worldie from time to time and look good.I'm sure that would apply to most keepers.

That save last night though was something special.

Was incredible. Sort of banks/seaman - esque with the way he was going against the momentum of his body.

Iv have to say (and bare in mind how I never see anything good or admit good about u lot) that save was outstanding, I actually jumpt up as if swans scored.
He had no right getting to that let alone tipping it over.
If not for hime u would have been down by now.
If u stay up or go down he im sure will be gone in the summer.
And thats not a dig, but a fact of life, teams like us will never be able to keep hold of players who show talents like he clearly has.

Agreed.Marshall has been in top form for most of last season and this.he has been our saviour so far to me on current form he has to be the best or close in the prem.If he goes I think he will go to one of the top six! Someone from the jacks says straight swap for lita!! Get real!

I must specify that I was not cheering the save but a almost certain goal.
When I seen the save I could not believe it.
Should u stay up ! Its down to him.

Re: David Marshall

In the Canton end and didn't shut my mouth for 30 seconds maybe more in astonishment that he made that save, there was one thing getting a hand to it but tipping it over the bar was something else.
