Strikers don't come easy

Wed Feb 12, 2014 12:25 am

Very rarely do January strikers ever work, especially at the bottom. Sturridge is the only striker bought in January who has been overall a good signing that I can think of. We desperately need a striker but January is an awful month for business. The real reason we may go down is because no teams are assembled in January.

Fraizer Campbell :ayatollah:

Jelavic and Cisse did well short term too.

Agreed re Campbell but look where we were, if we were mid table, he would have never come, heck he rejected a loan move to us before coming, but when we looked like securing the league he joined. Whereas no one would join us who had any real talent as we were in the relegation zone and under new management so it'd be rotational to find the best rhythm.

Jelavic and Cisse yes, can't say the same for many sides who are in the bottom half of the table though, QPR bought Remy for a fair bit and still went down but he was still a good finisher.
