So he has still not had any minutes on the pitch, which confuses me. Jones is just too slow with and without the ball and Campbell really doesn't seem to be willing to shoot the ball in the right direction. Think we should give Berget a chance, I mean come on, we're desperate after a decent striker, which is what the club lacks the most. Give the man some minutes to prove himself.

Yeah id play Berget in behind Campbell in the next game. He cant be any worse than Jones. If he is we may as well request relegation now.

I Agree, Jones is only good enough anywhere on the pitch when the opposition have a corner other than that he just lacks any type of emergency. Ive never seen Berget play but he cant be any worse than Jones providing he shows at least a little bit of willing to try and do something to score

Well said both of you. After what I've seen, Jones only seem to be half-decent in the air. Not good otherwise. Hate to be so pessimistic but it's true.

Completely agree.

Like I said in all the other threads about the exact same thing, Ole was saving the last sub because Turner was carrying a knock.

Berget was superb when I saw him for the DVP team last weak. Him and Daehli linked up amazingly well, and I think they'll both start at Wigan.

Let's hope so. Oh, and keep Eikrem on. He did a good job today! Great link with Medel.

Berget is not a striker, just a headsup. He can play there, but he is better off behind a quick striker like Campbell where he can get his naughty flicks and chips in behind the open space.

Or recall Maynard who scored twice for Wigan today! Why we let Maynard leave is beyond me!

Because he's overweight and not made for the PL, hense why West Ham got rid as soon as they got promoted.

Did you see the highlights? The ball went straight in off a corner brushing Maynard leg without him knowing anything about it

He was in the right place, that's what a good striker does. Did you see his first goal, burying one into the bottom corner? He'll start banging them in for Wigan on a regular basis now.

He warmed up for 20 minute straight, did Ole know he had 1 sub left? Embarrassing to watch.

Come on fella he was clinging to the post it went thru his legs lol do you think campbell would not be banging them in in the champ? Maynard is just not gd enough, found our at west ham and with us. We may keep him if we go down.

An assist and winning a penalty (something we haven't had this season) in his first 3 games for us last season before he was cruelly injured. West Ham's direct style didn't suit Maynard, but the fact so many West Ham fans were gutted he left them shows how highly rated he is. His goal at Accrington was a world class piece of skill, flicking the ball over the defenders head with his back to goal and rolling it into the bottom corner. Maynard hasn't been given a chance this season, but he definitely has the ability to play in the Premiership imo and we could have definitely used him more often this season.
