Cardiff City fans offer to pay for Liberty Stadium damage after South Wales derby
Monday 10th Feb 2014

Some fans threw beer at television screens after Swansea City scored their first goal during Saturday's match

Cardiff City Supporters Club has offered to pay for damage caused to Swansea’s Liberty Stadium following Saturday’s Premier League South Wales derby.

Football fans, including 1,640 travelling supporters, were praised by South Wales Police for their behaviour during Saturday’s showcase match.

However, there was an incident inside the stadium for which Cardiff fans have offered to make amends.

Vince Alm from Cardiff City Supporters Club said: “Unfortunately when Swansea scored their first goal after half time a very small minority decided to throw beer at three television screens in the stadium.

“As a group we wanted to show our appreciation for Cardiff City for paying for the coaches to transport us to the game, and for Swansea City for opening up the bars to serve us food and drink.

f**k me Vince, thanks for opening up the bars! Bar it should read and thank god nobody got injured. And also food, that should be a given as we are paying spectators. Cardiff city paying for the coaches? I think you know where that money came from.

All this and don't forget we paid £45 for the privilege.

That toilet is fine. The guy clearly just turned it around so he could talk to the other guy in the cubicle whilst having a number 2.

Cardiff City never paid one penny for those coaches, the Premier League did.
Also its the Travel groups like Carl/Dibs,Gerry etc who are paying for this out of their own pockets.

The Echo has got the story totally wrong and the Club told them they had to pay or else be kicked out.

Annis, glad to hear that all travel groups are chipping in and paying for the damage. We may all travel with different groups when we travel away, but we are all Cardiff City, we stand and fall as one :ayatollah: :ole: :ayatollah: :ole:

Why should the decent fans pay for the damage done by immature cretins. Anyone, Swan or Bluebird, who jokes about this sort of thing wants to grow up.

We all have "fans" we wish we didn't have, we need to out them. Although some are so thick, they out themselves in what they post on football forums.

Can't believe some of the comments on here grow up FFS if all the travel clubs have to cough up then don't take the morons who did the damage on their buses again because I'm sure they can find out who they are

Maybe Swansea council can use that money to make the away end less of a death trap. Especially those 'toilets'.

At half time there was basically a crush in the male toilets with them being far too small..only one small exit with hundreds trying to use them making it near impossible for those already in to get out. Pathetic excuse of a modern away end.

It is this sort of behaviour that causes such overreactions at the likes of Bolton which you complained about.

If we stopped serving you drinks too and followed their lead then our TV's wouldn't have been vandalised.

You must start to realise your actions will have a knock on effect and thus cant complain when they do... Which is what I was trying to tell you at the time.

In Sochi, Russia - this would be a 5 star hotel...

:P but glad it's being paid for - no real reason to do this kind of stuff imo

What about the damage caused to the CCS? Especially the hot water boiler.,
Apparently the jerks blamed it on Cardiff City as there was a rumour spreading they had to have a wash before entering the seating area.
A sensible idea considering all the germs and diseases they carry.

I don't see why your supporters trust should pay this damage, personally. The club should pay the bill.
