I believe the cake one is more like you can't eat the cake and still have it... i.e. its gone so you can't have it and eat it at the same.time although your right it is shite... at the end of the day is one of my pet hates...

Whenever somebody says 'at the end of the day' I always interrupt with 'it's the night' and they usually give up after the second time.

The constant off the pitch disruption, uncertainty and arguing Tan has caused from his ridiculous rebrand, and opening his big, fat mouth at the wrong time has hardly helped our teams performances on the pitch has it? If we go down, it's 100% Tan's fault.
