I believe this is the reason malky shut up shop and defended

He knew how bad our team is whenever we open up and try to play at teams we end up getting spanked.
Norwich at home I was horrified I never in my life have seen a team at ccs come at us the way they did apart from maybe Tottenham.
time waste tactics and grinding out the games were the best chance we had to win the game

Then why the hell did he spunk £50m on players that didnt fix the problem?

Have you now spent more money in a year than Swansea have in their whole Premier League stint? Cant be far off.

So how did we beat man city? Outplay the jacks at home 2nd half and a few others. When we went for it it we played better

We beat City by set pieces (don't want to detract the result) but I was shocked as to how we did limit City to so few chances yet be completely open in other games. Just a freak result really, would we beat them at the CCS if we drew them in the Fa Cup? Probably not.

We didn't outplay Swansea in November. We may have played with more passion than them but we created next to nothing in that game and got lucky off of a set piece (again not trying to detract the result)

But you're right when we went for it we played better (2nd half v Newcastle and Fulham away) but we tried to go for it away to Norwich and was battered and overrun in the first half.

I agree with the OP. We were defensive because we didn't have the players to attack or control parts of the game which lies at Moody and Malky's feet for some shocking business last summer

Moody's latest acquisitions seem to be doing ok at palace....

lets be honest, our victory over man city is worth alot less now. Villa and Sunderland have also beaten them while they drew away to Norwich. even more so when you consider they were without Kompany.
We owe the home victory against west brom down to Marshall really for that save from Long towards the end.

for me, Fulham and Swansea were the only two we deserved to win, Fulham are the worst team in the league, while Swansea put in the worst performance of the season.

This myth about Malky's defending tactics is getting annoying now, we were leaking goals all over the place and only fulham had a worse record than us

The only reason we got more points earlier in the season was due to goals from corners/free kicks... That's nearly entirely dried up since the Man Utd game and Kim's header... We won't doing much better earlier on, just getting the headers in. Our defending has been crap since day 1 of the Premier League era... It's only Marshall who has given us any kind of chance at all...
