Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to ring changes for Aston Villa clash
Monday 10th Feb 2014.

The Bluebirds boss is demanding an instant upturn in performance and results following the horror of Saturday’s 3-0 derby thrashing by arch-rivals Swansea.

Juan Cala could make his first appearance for Cardiff City

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will turn to his Norwegian and Spanish recruits to spark Cardiff City’s battle to preserve their Premier League status when Aston Villa visit the Welsh capital tomorrow night.

The Bluebirds boss is demanding an instant upturn in performance and results following the horror of Saturday’s 3-0 derby thrashing by arch-rivals Swansea.

Solskjaer is ready to rip up the side which started that Liberty Stadium humiliation, with his former Molde duo Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Mats Moller Daehli coming straight in for the must-win clash against fellow strugglers Villa.

Spanish central defender Juan Cala is also likely to get the nod ahead of Ben Turner as Solskjaer seeks to bolster a back four which creaked terribly against Swansea.

Jordon Mutch and Craig Noone, controversially omitted for the derby, are also pushing for a recall. So too is striker Fraizer Campbell as Solskjaer looks to make as many as five changes. As well as Turner, the places of Peter Whittingham, Kim Bo-Kyung and Kenwyne Jones are under threat, while Craig Bellamy is unlikely to play two matches in the space of three days.

“We will utilise my squad and turn over every little stone we’ve got because I have some good players there,” said Solskjaer.

“You may see one or two Norwegians involved. Juan is also in my thoughts, he’s been positive and bright.

He continued: “There are two massive home matches coming up against Villa and Hull. We need to start winning games, that’s the demand for us.

“Losing to our bitterest rivals really hurt. The players must display the character to bounce back.”

We've got to be more attack minded, we concede too many goals from 4_5_1, go out 4_4_2 the opposition can't score if we're attacking. If we lose 3_2 at least we're giving ourselves a chance and who know's we might even win a game by.scoring a few. So yes bring in the changes and go get em!

They should have never been dropped in the first place

I agree. If we are going to concede 3 goals we have to do everything we can to score 4

Ben Turner has got be dropped. He has no positional sense, isn't quick enough, can't read the game and panics and 'hoofs' the ball when he has possession

How about putting three of our best players this season on the pitch, Campbell Mutch and Noone. I'm no football manager but leaving them out beggars belief.

I still think Jones should start. Unless we play with a different system other than a lone striker. Campbell just lacks the strength and height to be up there on his own. Jones won every ball against Norwich and if the team can perform similar to that maybe we can start being more attack focused.

Katherine at RB, with Caulker and Cala at central defence with Fabio on the left. Eikrem and Medel in central, with Noone, Mutch and Zaha just behind Jones.

IMO, Berget is better than Ki. Ki has been shit lately. Dæhli should be starting. Campbell as well.
