Lack of atmosphere is not due to rebrand.

Sun Feb 09, 2014 9:36 am

It's been awful since we moved stadiums and even then Ninian Park wasn't always rocking. When it was good it was very good but had it's off moments.

Our support away at the Jacks in the championship was quiet. That was pre rebrand. At the time people said it was because they hate us more than we hate them.

I personally feel it's been something that has crept in as the fans no longer identify with the players on the pitch. In the old days they were local lads, one of us. You simply cannot say that now. I think it also came from success and new fans who don't know / like the songs or like singing. It is not due to the rebrand.

Defo not due to Tan or shirt colours in my opinion.

Did anyone really think we could go to Swansea and out shout them on their own patch.

I was actually thinking that we could learn a lot from how their crowd gets up.

Firstly sticking away fans in the middle of one end and having our singing sections on both sides of yhem. That way they can be put down as soon as they start to get behind their team. Just like they did to us yesterday.

Secondly get a drum to whip up some fervour. Even when their singing took a slight dip the drum kept things ticking over.

Lastly everytime they scored they played music and had orchestrated music, song and whole crowd jumping. We cheer our goals and then within a minute or so the hype is over. They kept theirs going for ages after they scored.

I thought their atmosphere was great and loads better than ours and just taking up those three things would put us well back on track.

In fairness though our TV and toilet smashing dickheads give give them a couple of renditions of their rendition of hymns and arias. Great response........... not

Yes the atmosphere has been poor since we moved there. However any enthusiasm many of us have had for cardiff city has been drained since the rebrand. Supporting a club with an alien colour shirt and badge seems like a different club

I think we are looking through misty nostalgic eyes. The new stadium and the banning regime finally allowed one of the last dinosaurs to catch up with the rest of "modern" football

Plenty of enthusiasm at Man City home game. That was with Red shirt and different badge.

The atmosphere is defiantly worse than what it was at ninian - but there has been a bigger difference since the rebrand and the discord it has spread through our fan base is largely to blame for the shite atmosphere

It's nothing to do with rebrand or any other excuse people come up with, iv'e been to 5 away games this season and all the grounds the atmosphere was worse than ours. Old trafford was like , well put it this way they just dont sing . Villa only made a noise when they scored. Fulham just dont sing at all. West ham only sing blowing bubbles and Arsenal are shit too.
Its called Modern football !!!! The old days of singing and intimidation have gone apart from away days ...

Very true. Modern fans don't like singing. Just a fact.

Our fans are not imaginative enough to create a proper atmosphere.

It's down to the stewards ensuring everyone is sat down.

It's no coincidence that our atmosphere has dropped since the stewards ensured everyone is sat down.

What I don't get is why we were allowed to stand for a few matches this season and now it's sit down or your out
