Whittingham

Am I the only one that thought he played well tonight? put some good balls across, played smart and didn't try stupid passes or give the ball away cheaply, overall A far better performance than last week!

And that shot, bout time we seen more of that from Whitts, I hope this is the return of Whitts, I really do! :ayatollah: :notworthy:

Whitts just looks very low on confidence...he has been a great servant to the club and on times in the past has carried Cardiff. It saddens me to see fans getting on his back all the time.

Whitts was one of our better players which isn't saying much though.

Medel was good, Dec did well, Bellers at least seemed to care.

Ole had a mare. Mutch should've started, Noon unlucky to miss out. Kimbo shouldn't have started and should've been taken off.

I just can't make out how we're trying to play yet but let's give Ole time.

Thought he was one of the better players although barely anyone had a decent game tonight. Just hope he constantly improves if played in the coming games :)

Re: Whittingham

I thought he was awful like the rest of the team

I'm not sure if I imagined the lack of effort accompanied with the huge amount of passes given away

Anyone watching that game will be betting on Cardiff going down

OGS needs to sort out the players & he needs to sort out his tactics...

Re: Whittingham

I find that i am now focusing on his every move and not enjoying the match. I cant help it now but seeing him jog around in midfield with his arms by his side 10 yards away from the guy in front of him without any intention of closing down is driving me mad. Quality opposition are walking all over him.

Anybody watching Goals on Sunday? Kamara's analysis of Routledge's goal is spot on! Whittingham fails to close down Hernandez's and gives him all the time in the world to pass inside Fabio. The similarities to Norwich's goal last week, he fails to close down Snodgrass and the same pass is played inside Noone. Whittingham is a liability in the centre of midfield, he does not carry out his defensive duties.

100% right from beddaubluebird.

Yes, I'm beginning to think if OGS is astute enough to realise these type of things?

Beddaubluebird is spot on, why do cardiff continue to pick witts when he clearly is shit and offers nothing, do they not care about winning because picking players like witts, turner and Kim we have no fukin chance of surviving.

100% on the money.
I deliberately focused on him yesterday and the number of times he had the opportunity to close players down but did nothing was disgraceful.
How on earth can you compete in midfield when one of your players will not tackle or close down opposing players. He is a luxury we can no longer afford in a relegation battle and having been pulled off after 30 odd minutes against Norwich how he got 90 minutes yesterday mystifies me.
Having said that yesterday was ole's fault as he chose to put the two light weights in Kim and whitts in a midfield that needed to put its bodies on the line in a hostile derby enviroment

I have criticised Whittingham because in a relegation fight you need all players to battle. He has decent skills but is not a good enough player that he can get away without working hard for the team. You can lay off players to a degree in the Championsip but its vital to close down in the top league. You cant give better players time on the ball. I don't want to keep singling him out for criticism as others also played poorly yesterday. BUT I find that what I have said on other threads is being repeated here ......we cant all be wrong......

My my how can people slag Whitts he's a legend, one the best ever players to play for City, his number of England caps is unrivaled and the number of multi-million pound offers we have had for him from Premiership teams, not to mention top European teams too, well I have lost count. He sweats blood for City, giving 90 minutes graft in every game in every season, my God he walks on water. Lets have a collection and erect a statue outside the stadium so we can forever pay homage to the one, the only SuperWhitts allelulia allelulia allelulia :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Good Reverend you've summed it up superbly!
