An Open Apology to Swans Fans

I am in a reflective mood this morning, I just feel that I went too far with the piss-taking of Swansea and would like this opportunity to put the record straight.

Firstly, I have driven past Swansea to the Gower peninsula on many occasions, and the I must say the M4 road is in a good condition. The Swansea council have made West Wales very accessible and must be praised accordingly. I wanted to have a look at the city but my wife heard some spook stories about thieves, drug-addicts, prostitutes, vandalism etc and I could not convince her that this happened probably in a bygone era.

Secondly, I find stereotyping repugnant and crude so I have no idea why I made baseless assumptions that every Jack is a heroin addict who'd go out the rob and even steal Garry Monk's front door in the desperation for a fix. Yes it is true that Garry was a victim of burglary, but I am saddened that I added 2 + 2 to make 5.

Martin Luther King once wrote "Nothing in this world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
This goes out to the Swansea supporters, I want Cardiff to win but not at the cost of my continuing ignorance. Swansea was almost awarded a Capital of Culture award once so can't be that bad. Why did you lose out by the way..?? Anyhows, Kind Regards.

Having visited Southampton, Portsmouth and the fishing village that is Swansea..........I can safely say that Swansea is indeed the worst place of them all in terms of it's smack heads, crime and run down areas. Hopefully this has provided some clarity and balance to the argument.
