" CARDIFF CITY SIGN GUERRA (STRIKER) . "

Wed Feb 05, 2014 4:11 pm

Cardiff City have signed Javi Guerra and will join the club in July :ole:

Javi Guerra is a striker :ole:

Pre-contract agreement, 3 year contact.

Javi Guerra has signed a contract with Cardiff. The striker will join the Welsh club in July, when his contract with Valladolid expires.

Our new signing Javi Guerra (Signed pre-contract agreement to join us next season) has scored 65 goals in 127 apps for Real Valladolid, and has scored 11 in 22 in La Liga so far this season. That averages a goal every two games.

what happens if we were to get relegated??

Re: CITY SIGN GUERRA

Too old and hardly prolific in respect of his goal scoring record.

To be honest, I'd rather we wait and see what league we're in before signing players for next season.

Don't like this signing or the timing. Also he will be 32 when he joins.

Fair enough in regards to the timing, but being 32 when he signs makes no difference. He's still a goalscorer.

The fact he's managed 11 goals in 21 for a poor La Liga side this season says it all. He's still capable.

Strange one this. Signs in July? We needed a goalscorer now not July.
Hopefully he is gonna be quality for us for next season but what if we do stay up and ole eyes a better striker than guerra? Would this signing be a waste of time that's what I'm thinking

Re: CITY SIGN GUERRA

Doesnt make sense to me? But he has not kicked a ball for cardiff yet and
is cheap so why criticise. wait and see

Re: CITY SIGN GUERRA

Free transfer so doesn't affect the budget much. Could be one of those signings preparing for Champ

Re: CITY SIGN GUERRA

I wouldn't get to excited . Pre contract agreements mean pretty much nothing these days . Another club could buy us off (Cana) or he could get injured by July and it be terminated . Both parties could agree its no longer best for both in a few months .

Until he commits fully and arrives here anything could happen .

Do you really think we will sign on a full contract at 32 if he breaks his leg between now and then :?:

Some of our fans love a moan. It's what they do best.

From the reports in Spain (many Spanish Journos), it sounds like he's actually signed a 3 year deal with us.

Age means nothing. If he does the job thats it.

Eto is 32 and you'd all take him.

I dont think you could sign and have two contract for two clubs at once , even if one starts later than the other . I thought it was either a pre contact agreement or a signing and loan back deal .
So I'm guessing he has signed a pre contract agreement to sign a 3 year deal ?
Why would you sign somebody and let him play for another club risking his fitness ?

Cardiff City sign pre-contract agreement with Spanish striker Javi Guerra
5 Feb 2014 17:30
Guerra was a target for Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the January transfer window

Cardiff City have signed a pre-contract agreement with Spanish forward Javi Guerra, who will join the Bluebirds in the summer.

Guerra, 31, currently plays for Valladolid in Spain.

Cardiff made a reported 3m Euro offer for Guerra, but the transfer could not be completed before the January transfer window closed. There has been no official comment from Cardiff, but sources close to Guerra say he has agreed a three-year contract.

He started his career at Espanyol and has also played for Levante, Valencia and Real Mallorca.

Guerra has scored 65 goals in 127 appearances for Real Valladolid so far including 11 in 22 La Liga matches this season.

Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to add to his attacking options for next season, despite bringing Kenwyne Jones to the club during the January transfer window.

Jones' arrival saw £8m flop Andreas Cornelius leave after little more than six months at Cardiff City Stadium, while Joe Mason is also set to leave on loan.

Cardiff signed a host of new players last month, including a trio of Norwegians, striker Jones, Manchester United defender Fabio and loan signing Wilfried Zaha

We can't now Gavin as there is no loan window for Premier League clubs, the only exception would be an emergency loan for a goalkeeper.

It's a good job your only limited to foptball manager and FIFA then.

Ole is the manager and wants him, so what you rather don't really matter, does it.

Yet some would of taken 35 year old Klose and as said above we would all take 32 year old eto, leave ole to it ffs.

Age should not matter when we are getting him on a free transfer. Hardly worried about sell on value when he cost nothing.

And how on earth is better than a goal per two game strike rate hardly prolific? That's one of the dumbest things that I have read on here. And that's saying something.
