Are Hull City fans proof all fans are like ours?

Wed Feb 05, 2014 2:59 pm

When we took the red for the investment I remember a lot of clubs saying 'we wouldn't take it...we'd riot straight away and force the owner out'....yet it has happened to Hull City and they were happy for him to come in and put his money in and help them get promoted but when he then later wanted to impose himself on the club with his ways they object.

Seems to me a sign of the times. All fans seem happy to take the money but then when changes are then the made to the club that owner has invested into the furore starts. Im not justifying what these owners do in any way either but shouldn't more fans stand up in the beginning and just say 'we dont want your money or you' and the FA should also grow a pair and protect each and every club.

The FA have done next to nothing to help clubs like this and the whole rules on ownership of clubs need to change.

I think it was the fact Tan promised not to change anything, then he just did it. Such a sudden change, I don't think many people knew what to do. How do you stop something that has already happened?.

To be honest Tans investment has been great but we know next to nothing about the clubs finances. Everyone praising him and imo we are heading up shit creek with the amount of debt we are in.

We would have come up eventually without his investment. When we basically had no squad a few years back when everyone left, the money he spent wasn't outrageous. Any other owner could have done the same. It was that period that we got players like Noone, Mutch, Taylor etc.

Do the owners put the money in out of their own pockets or do they loan the football club money saddling the club with more debt?

He owns the club.
In reality, he's lending it to himself.

Not really though. Hammam loaned the club money and someone else had to pay when he left whilst he pocketed the APR. With the club in more debt than ever before we cant afford to throw money away ala Cornelious and I find it concerning, Although I admit to knowing next to nothing regarding the financial side so I could be concerned about nothing.

Green Arrow (et al)

Our fans are no different from any other fans of any other club.
We have good people, moaners, plastics, loyalists, traditionalists, wannabes, sheep, fighters, booers, ignorant, old, young, wise, brash, happy and sad fans.

Some of the tripe you write about sell outs and losing soul and slamming fellow city fans with different shades of light on situations makes me livid.

I don't think you are a bad person, but I do think you should stop and think at times when posting attacks against our own fans.
There's enough jacks, Daya,s and polos, to do that. Plus message boards of English clubs with their racist bile.

I want tan out, I want blue back, I choose to go to games and stand up for myself. I currently have not left the ship as no
Fukien stranger owner passing through will make me while there is a Cardiff City fc.

All I Want is to stop the moans and the bickers and for us fans to get behind all the players and the manager and let's bounce this Fukien team back up the table.

Starting with smashing those jacks on Saturday.
Blue Fukien birds! :ole: :ayatollah: :ole: :ayatollah:

The difference was Tan was putting more money in as long as the fans supported the rebrand.

There was no idea that Hull City supporters were to expect a name change, they accepted him coming in way before the idea even come into his head, completely different and they have reacted since the news came about.

Of course they are going to be happy for him to come in and invest and by the club. Always a risk but they didn't expect anything to happen like a name change.

Comparing the situation and how the fans reacted is quite hard to be honest Barnett.
