Monk becoming their manager will divide them further

Wed Feb 05, 2014 8:11 am

Can't see Chico the prima donna of the year and the others in the Spanish clique being happy with that appointment. I bet they're absolutely raging about the whole thing.

I really don't understand why Huw didn't get someone else in sooner because thats one hell of a gamble for them. Monk and Curtis have no real experience whereas at least with us Solskjaer did and had all those years at United studying the greatest whilst he was a player.

The worst thing we could do is to think we've already won the game. Lets not forget we are second bottom, they've been in the prem for 3 years now is it?.

They could be in complete disarray, or they could be completely fired up for it.

Either way, we have more talent them then nearly everywhere on the park imo. We should win.

They will be up for it make no mistakes about that.

We'll be up for it too.
On the back of a win, we have a manager the team wants to play for, and fighting a relegation battle.
Our new signings are looking good and we are on for the double.
So many positives for us.
I know Ole will not let our team to be over confident, but if we score first, or hold them for 20 minutes their crowd is going to turn on them big time.
After Swansea has only won two prem games since their cup win, can someone please list their positives going into the game.(apart from N'gog) :D

P.S. I just heard there was a bit of a bust up in training at swansea today!

I have 2 concerns:
1. Laudrup was the problem so replacing him with Monk could go to solving at least half of their problems. The other problem they now need to solve is tactics which I doubt Monk is skilled for.
2. Are we really up for this in the way that do we have the ability or know how yet?

who cares about them ,lets not worry , its a derby game so its gonna be close and with them giving the job to their local tool they will be up for the game but Ole will get us going forward and with the pace of noone ,zaha and bellers not forgetting jones and campbell we will cause them problems .

The fist concern cannot be solved by a player who has never even managed a reserve team at any level, let alone a premiership side.
Monk has had arguments with team mates in the last couple of weeks, so I can't see him getting the motivation in the team, with or without his tactical "skills" :D
I think number two on your list has already been answered by Ole in the last game. We were 0-1 down but he turned it round with his football knowledge.

Remember the week before we beat them Moody was sacked!

I'm not saying we shouldn't relish in their misery, let's be honest they've loved the circus at our club the last few years.

None of us know whether Monk is capable. I hope he's shit cos I hate the tw*t with his anti - cardiff drivel but that doesn't mean he'll be shit.
At the end of the day he spent a lot of time around Martinez and Rodgers so he may well have learnt a fair bit.

Another possibility is that the players (especially the foreigners) may see him as the grassing little bit chance who went running to uncle huw every five minutes when Laudrup was there!

I hope the latter is the case and they go tumbling down the league.

They'll be up for this game with Monk in charge and the possibility of dropping into the relegation zone.

Laudrup didn't understand what this game means - you could tell that by his laid-back manner at the CCS last year. Monk will be.

Let's just hope he's awful when it comes to managerial duties.

Wouldn't make too much of monk and Chico having a row either.

It happens all the time in all types of work.

I was head to head with someone I work with start of the year, work was stressful and had to really dig in to get it done and one lad was pissing me off and it ended up with us both nearly going for eachother and both being really fucked off had to have some distance put between us rest of the day. When home time came and I had to get in his car for a 3 hr journey home we were fine (ish) but was all done and dusted by the time he picked me up next day and we got on fine after..

No point in really just thinking their gonna drop because Curtis and Monk are at the helm for now.

It could work both ways.

I havent read a lot of the various posts on this....but I seem to be in the minority by thinking it will have a negative effect on the vermin. I really think we are going to get something Saturday. :ayatollah:

Not saying it will all be rosy just gave an example of an explosive row between 2 work colleagues, just saying don't think because they have fallen out they won't be getting along now. Obviously I hope they hate one and other and there's a huge divide in the squad...but don't get your hopes up usually these things blow over. Knowing our luck they are probably like will ferrel and john c reilly on stepbrothers after it all.
