Is this going to mean a big compensation bill for the Jacks

Tue Feb 04, 2014 8:17 pm

Or just the 6 months wages.

Big blow for them if they have to shell out the £10m which was the contract buy-out clause. No big deal if it's 6 months wages.

He had 18 months left. I'm sure I read about the 10 million clause but was corrected by a jack on here who claimed it was if another club came in for him. Hope he was wrong ;)

That was me. Any compensation will be the wages due for the remainder of his contract, not £10m.

Why would compensation be higher than the value of his contract? If that were the case he'd just be put on gardening leave I'd imagine and have his wages paid weekly until his contract ran out.

What was his salary. Must be close to 2million a year plus bonus.

Are the back room staff going? Not so long ago I read wieghorst was being primed to take over.

It appears so given that Curt is being used as Monk's assistant. Not sure how long "the foreseeable future" is mind for Monk & Curt.

Our dip in for coincided with Weighorst joining as assistant. Whether that is just coincidence though, who knows?

I would hazard a guess that we'll have these next 2 games with Monk & Curtis in charge and then take stock as the next league game after that isn't until 23rd Feb, albeit there's the FA cup game and 1st leg v Napoli before that but they are a secondary consideration.

It would just be a clause in his contract.

If there is a £10m compensation clause it's not unfeasible it could go both ways. The £10m clause will have stopped him moving in the summer, so I'd expect there would be something in the contract to make up for such a tight leash.

Just wondered if you knew for sure or were just guessing -from what you say you are guessing .
No problem, I haven't got a clue either, it's not important.

In fairness I doubt Jenkins would have binned him if it was going to cost you £10m unless he had completely lost the plot.

Probably more likely your dip in form was when the injuries and fatigue from Europa set in like we told you all it would, but of course your light years ahead :laughing6:
