DVP: FULL TIME: CardiffCity DVP 2-2 QPR
Healey and Daehli for City, Petrasso double for Rangers. #TopOfTheLeague
Healey and Dæhli score as DVP earn point
Kevin Cooper's development side remain at the top of the PDL 2 South table following a 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers at Cardiff City Stadium.
Rhys Healey fired the young Bluebirds in front on 19 minutes before QPR quickly responded through Michael Petrasso who levelled the scores just three minutes later.
Petrasso netted a his second just after the half our mark to complete the turnaround for the R's before Mats Møller Dæhli restored parity once more just before half time.
New signing Jo Inge Berget was alert enough to capitalise on a mix up in the Rangers defence, beating his man before passing for strike partner Rhys Healey to beat the ‘R’s’ keeper Aaron Lennox for pace and slot into the empty net to the delight of the watching City fans – Healey’s tenth goal in eleven PDL2 South games this term.
The away response was almost instantaneous, with Michael Petrasso smashing the ball into the top corner from just inside the penalty box. Petrasso scored again on thirty two minutes from an acute angle to give his side the advantage.
Dæhli troubled the away side throughout the first half and showed his goal-scoring prowess on the half time whistle, jinking behind the back line before firing the ball into the back of the net from the left side.
Dæhli could have added to his goal with the clock running down, but he was unfortunate with Aaron Lennox denying Kevin Cooper’s side a third goal on a number of occasions in the second half.
With second placed Brighton & Hove Albion defeating Crystal Palace 3-2 this evening, City’s development side currently sit four points clear at the top of Professional Development League 2 South with nine games left to play this season – they next make the short journey to Bristol City on Monday 17th February.

Healy scoring again for the DVP. Kid is on fire! Fair play if he carries on scoring then he's got to be given some first team experience. Not sure that would be with us but loan him out.

Veli also banged them in for DVP, standard is different class, remember we are not even in the top league for the DVP.

Another good qpr goal to lead 2-1. A 1-2 on edge of the area and slotted it home well. Pretty even game here

2-2 daehli. He told berget where to put it and he done the rest. Beating his man and slamming it home

According to my twitter feed Daehli is playing on his own against the QPR development team. Really putting in a shift.
