Cardiff loan-star Wilfried Zaha targets Swansea derby win as he sets out to become fan favourite

Wilfried Zaha wants to become a fans' favourite at Cardiff and can take another big step against Swansea.

The Manchester United star has proved an instant hit in the Welsh capital.

He lifted the Bluebirds off the bottom of the Premier League by inspiring a vital 2-1 win over Norwich on his debut at the weekend.

Now he can seal his place in the hearts of the Cardiff faithful by completing the double - relegation survival and victory in Saturday evening's south Wales derby at the Liberty.

Zaha said: "It's a big game and I hope to be part of it. I'm happy and every game I come on, I will give it my all. I hope to be one of the fans' favourites.

"We can get out of the relegation zone if we believe. Getting these points have helped a lot. We needed the crowd to help [against Norwich] and the noise the fans made really helped us to push on."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer drafted the 21-year-old in on loan from Old Trafford to help change the culture at Cardiff.
Solskjaer, a hero of United's 1999 Treble-winning side, is desperately trying to rebuild player confidence in the Welsh capital, as well as introduce a more attacking ethos than was present under predecessor Malky Mackay.

Zaha said: "When I came on [shortly before half-time] I could feel there wasn't much hope. But the manager just told us to push on and attack.

"We were at home and there's no reason we should be on the back foot all the time. We went back out thinking we had to get back in the game. We defended for our lives, but it's what you have to do sometimes. I'm glad we got the points."

Cardiff are aiming to complete the double over arch-rivals Swansea on Saturday evening, after winning 1-0 in November thanks to Steven Caulker's goal.
