Drug overdose.

Cue his films being top sellers again, so predictable. Some people are laughable.

Very Talented actor and a massive loss to the film industry.
He was fantastic as Truman Capote and deservedly won the academy award for it in 05 I think.

RIP.

Oscar winner. Incredibly talented and many actors hitting the big time now looked up to him.

Sorry to hear, especially as he looks quite young. Never heard of him, though, and don't recognise the photo.

Now I've got the sentiment out of the way....

Yes he was an actor and a fine one at that, the truth is hundreds of thousands have died across the globe for some reason or another today,
To reserve time to mourn and respect for just one is unjust.

He knew the risks of what he was doing by using substances that have potential to do harm.
As someone said earlier "what a horrible way to go" personally I feel more sorry for the ones he has left behind who will constantly be reminded of his death with the amount of drug use and reference to it in all aspects of modern day life.

absolutely hilarious in along came polly.

Hoffman: "we have to go, i've just sharted"
Ben Stiller: "What do you mean?"
Hoffman: "I farted and a little shit came out"

I'm the first to criticise outpouring of emotion over celebrities. Hoffman was a genuine and humble guy though, of what I have seen. Hardly ever heard him in the media.

He'll be talked about for a few weeks, then forgotten, same as any other famous death.

The whole 'cowardly' and 'selfish' opinion dished out to any drug taker or person that commits suicide is ridiculous. We have no idea about the situation. I can't imagine sticking a needle into his veins day after day after day, was his idea of time well spent. He went to rehab multiple times.

I can't think of anything more 'brave' than the ability to kill yourself, it is far from cowardly.

He was in '25th Hour' (directed by Spike Lee) alongside Edward Norton, a favourite of mine.

You would enjoy 'the boat that rocked', it's basically the story of radio caroline and the British government's attempts to outlaw pirate radio stations at sea.
It's also wall to wall packed with classic tunes from the 60s and 70s.
No cheesy american romcom shit.
Watch it loud with a 6 pack and a big bowl of chilli coated peanuts! You will be transported back to the late 60s early 70s and start singing songs about brian clark and ian gibson :ugeek:
