Javi Guerra still coming?

Sun Feb 02, 2014 3:40 pm

Rumours that he'll do what the lad Cala from Sevilla has done, and buy out his contract to sign for us on a free....

Not possible.

He has to have been a free agent before the transfer window ended.

I was thinking of that. I'm sure he'd be allowed to sign for us if it happened.

If it was possible you'd see it all the time with top clubs bribing players to pay themselves out of contracts.

I'm sure you can sign free agents any time. It's a 'transfer' window, so a free agent isn't being transferred from anyone.

Yes he is. We're all being transferred all the time because we're all God's children at the end of the day.

We can still free agents though, yes?

I doubt it. It would cost a fortune and the teams they were going to would be paying them to get out of their contract, paying them to sign on and paying them a wage.

It only happens with players in their last six months and if their current club are not giving them a new contract. It's not normal as the current club may as well keep them just in case.

It would be odd for us to get two players by this method in a single season.

Oh and it is allowed, you don't have to be free agent during the transfer window. Free agents can be signed at anytime as it would be a restriction of trade. FIFA, UEFA or the FA could not stop a person from earning a wage.

Players must be a free agent at the time of the window closing in order to be eligible to sign, and play for a club outside of a transfer window.

A player cannot have his contract cancelled outside of a window and then sign and play for another club.

Yes he can. He cannot however be registered by the new club until the next transfer window.

Hence why I included "and play" in my reply.

He's got a name that sounds more suited to WWE so in that case I say I'm glad we didn't sign him.

We haven't registers any of our new players yet.

To the OP where have you heard these rumours?
As the only one I've heard is the one I posted on this forum.
