Do you slot him back in after yesterday, or would you bench him?
Sun Feb 02, 2014 2:45 pm
Id rest him and give him a holiday for a few weeks. Somethings not right in his noggin at present.

I voted Yes.

I would guess his confidence is completely shot after yesterday. Depends what kind of mental strength he has of course but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not even on the bench.

I wouldn't play him, and i actually don't think ole will go with him, i also think we will only play with one winger which will be zaha.

I would give him 10 days in Dubai..... Next game Wigan
Sun Feb 02, 2014 2:57 pm
I'd start him then bring him off after 5 minutes, just to see if Mario Polo has a complete mental meltdown

He's not good enough to keep his place. It's a shame what happened yesterday and yes he's been a great servant to the club, but we are in the bottom three for a reason and his inept displays have played a part in that
It's been coming a while and as we witnessed with Mackay, there's no room for sentiment at the bottom of the league

Give him a rest for a few weeks I reckon.
My team:-
Marshall
Fabio
Caulker
Juan Cala
John
Medel
Nooney
Mutch
Zaha
Bellamy
Jones

Completely agree something has not been right for while as shown be his poor set pieces the last month or so. Keep him away from our fans for a few games

Can't believe anyone has voted yes!
Shouldn't even be on the bench.
Sun Feb 02, 2014 3:39 pm
100% yes
He will come out fighting and probably be man of the match . I think ole will play him aswell , when someone is slightly down the best thing to do is put him straight back in and boost his confidence

Being dropped totally will do nothing but harm his confidence
Sun Feb 02, 2014 3:59 pm
But leaving him in? What if he has another mare! I will never slag any of our players, but he has lost form big time.bench for me.
Sun Feb 02, 2014 4:00 pm
No thanks he is the shittest midfielder we have.

Not sure if you have seen us this season but he is more than slightly down.

I've seen every game
At old Trafford last week he was probably the best player we had on the pitch , he hasn't been bad every game .
His problem is his consistency

I'm referring to the "slightly down" comment. His confidence is shot to bits. I honestly think he would be a liability if he played next week
Sun Feb 02, 2014 4:13 pm
I would, he's got something to play for now and you know he would go for it. You also need players like him in a derby match, people who've been there before and know the atmosphere. To throw someone like Daehli or Eikrim in would be disastrous.
Then again, I'm not a professional manager

I think Ole will rest him and start him against Wigan

Well hello there, Mr. 30 posts!
Sun Feb 02, 2014 4:45 pm
im a huge whitts fan but I said no, he needs a rest and needs to come back into his best position he needs to be employed in more attacking role and not defensive role, I would start ekrim instead of whitts so we can see how he does for the jacks game I would start
marshall
Fabio
caulker
turner
john
medel
ekrim
zaha
mutch
daelhi
jones
campbell

I agree his confidence looks low
Sun Feb 02, 2014 4:49 pm
Nope his confidence is shot to pieces and what little he had left was well and truly destroyed yesterday.
His lack of pace has become more of an issue at this level but to see a club stalwart of nearly 300 games gets booed and jeered yesterday makes me sick. The same fanbase who cheered and chanted for a player who had just scored AGAINST us I do wonder what has become of our fan base.
I doubt we will see him again. Thanks for some great performances, goals and memories Peter.

Ole won't use that formation against the jacks, would rather see daehli for bellers even after yesterday. If we have Cambell in with that then we should run them off the pitch and stop them from playing by closing them down. If that fails then play direct like yesterday

Can we move on from this now? We have some exciting new talent at the club. Lets play them and take the league by storm! Mutch Daelhi Kim Noone Eikrem Zaha ....we're spoilt for choice!

Agreed.
People say ' theres no room for sentiment ' when it comes to dropping Whitts but they were sentimental about Malky and even made a song about keeping him. Its hilarious.
Whitts would be great if utilised in the right position but playing an attacking midfielder in a holding central role is idiotic and Solskjaer knew his mistake and made the change. He's admitted to this in the interview yet people still use it as something to attack Whitts because of their underlying agendas. Bunch of morons they are. At Swansea Whittingham would thrive alongside the likes of Britton etc. and complimented the passing game yet our fans are stuck in hoof ball dinosaur mode and just scream to kick it up there.
Even on the stream i watched yesterday you could hear some fan by the commentary box shout at Fabio ' just ***** get it up there you ***** ' - this to a new player just brought in to play good football yet the fans want hoof ball. They dont understand transition or tactics either most of them. In a way, I wish Malky had stayed now, so he could have taken us back down and given these morons what they wanted - Championship hoof ball.
