fantastic reaction saves and has kept us in so many games......my opinion is he certainly at the top...
Sat Feb 01, 2014 11:54 pm
No chance. Joe Hart/Hugo Lloris when they're on form Petr Cech as an all round keeper.
Sat Feb 01, 2014 11:56 pm
No.
Cech, Mignolet, Begovic and Lloris are all better than him. Joe Hart is overrated.
Sat Feb 01, 2014 11:58 pm
I wouldn't put Lloris in that bracket tbh,
Cech for me, calm, sensible, great ability. De Gea has improved vastly over the past 2 seasons, Begovic is a great keeper too,
But under the circumstances (our dodgy defence) Marshall has to be up there with them on his day. Marshall is prone to mistakes too though.
He was at fault for one of Chelsea's goals, and I feel that there are goals we concede where he could've done a lot better.
His reaction saves are unbelievable though

Bar his kicking he's probably the best shot stopper on current form in the league
I think Cech is probably still the best keeper in the league. Lloris maybe not far behind

agreed about his chelsea blooper(thou goal wrongly given)..but as game saver he has to be very close to the top...

I don't mean when he bounced the ball, I still maintain that shouldn't have been given, it was their second I think, where he could've done more

Tight one that. When De Gea first signed for United he was shocking, picked himself up now. Marshy is a better shot stopper but De Gea better all round IMO

Lloris is the best in my opinion because of his ability to not just stop goals but he can also launch attacks with ease.
There was this one brilliant piece of play a few weeks ago where he dived for the ball towards the edge of the box then threw it for a player to run onto a split second before he would have slid out of the box and hand balled it.
His only real flaw for me is his Hollywood style of keeping, he seems to intentionally put himself in a bad position so when he makes the save it's even more impressive.

Yes!

He is in the top 3 of form currently.
Not the best, a way off but the saves he has made have been world class some of them.
Sun Feb 02, 2014 10:28 pm
He's made the most saves in the league:
Marshall CAR 95
Ruddy NOR 80
Mignolet LIV 76
Szczesny ARS 74
Guzan AVL 70
Krul NEW 70
Begovic STK 69
Speroni CRY 68
De Gea MUN 67
Mannone SUN 67
Lloris TOT 66
Howard EVE 64
Jääskeläinen WHU 64
McGregor HUL 55
Doesn't say much for our defence / midfield closing down that he is forced to be that busy though?

its a difficult position to judge, but id say no he isnt near the top, he is really good at the reaction save and maybe the best at it...but sometimes those remarkable saves would be easy saves had he got his positioning correct to start with, and his distribution is poor.

If he were to command his box better and not stand on his goal line then maybe he would be up there with the best, but I'm sorry if it were not for Kenwynne Jones on Saturday we could have lost by a hatfull. Had some great saves, but puts us under too much pressure, especially in the last part of the match.

He is certainly up there with the best

as above...i see it too..a lot of these remarkable world class saves are a direct product of him not dealing with what most keepers see as bread and butter in the first place, oh and he never catches anything that isnt a gimme.
but its the reflex saves the audience likes.
