Don't remember McPhail and Hudson getting booed in that very ground then?

Lol
some people on here just seem to want to blame everything on so called plastic fans whoever they are
today about 80% of the crowd where either booing whittingham or at least happy with him being sub and zaha being brought on
most around me did not boo him but where bloody happy he went off

The notion of this being related to the rebrand or plastic fan is folly.
Fans have booed many players in the past.
Even legends.
Andy Legg got dogs abuse and I mean Propper abuse despite scoring goals he got abused.
Fans are fickle,end of.

What an absolute wanker you are! Get a grip!!
Whittingham was awful and gave the ball away 4 times in the first 15 mins! But I think the booing or cheering when he came off was out of order!

I had a blue shirt on but was very careful to put a red shirt over it first so I could boo whitts and get away with it

What nonsense. People in blue would never do such a thing. The last I heard was Bluebirds Unite organised an emergency meeting in the changing rooms to console Whittingham at half time. They even organised a live performance by Deacon Blue for him. Just what I heard from my mate who sits outside the Neville now he can no longer go inside.

From what I saw it was the hardened City faithful who were happy to see Whitts subbed. The ones who should remember how much the guy has put into the club over the years. Agreed that his form is poor at the moment but to boo the lad and cheer when his number was held up isn't going to help his confidence. It is more of a reflection on our fickle fans than the player.

Whitts struggled badly yesterday, but in saying that who impressed you in our side up to the thirty seventh minute yesterday,as it turned out a great call by Ole and winning is all that matters so job done.Taking Whitts off a football pitch even when playing badly is a calculated risk though as those fans who booed him yesterday would have to admit,i think back to the game at Hull and of course the WBA match[the last time we picked up three points before yesterday]were they must surely in hindsight be delighted he stayed on the pitch.

Good job we're not supporting a Latin American team. They don't boo off poor players ....they shoot them!
