TWO REASONS WHY WE WILL NEVER BE A BIG CLUB

Sat Feb 01, 2014 9:27 pm

1. A big club wouldn't have accepted the rebrand. Could you imagine the same thing happening at Celtic or Liverpool?

2. Any attempt of playing possession football was met with boo's and/or suggestions of hoofing it upfront by some of our neanderthal supporters.

Also people who booed Whitts today need to hang their heads in shame, yes I agree he's not in the best of form but no player who plays for the club deserves to be booed especially a loyal servant like Whitts.

Agree with your points, but I doubt if anyone seriously thinks that we are a big club.

Look at how many different kit changes Leeds had till 1960 in comparison to our 100+ years of blue

There is too much booing and not enough supporting in my opinion.

We are in the premier league FFs.

Our fans should be singing for the full 90.
We have no divine right to be there, we have no tea m of superstars.
What we have is what we have. The fans, the 12th man.

Tan rebrand has half destroyed this, but we can still be a sea of blue
And get behind and intimidate by supporting and singing.

I 'm desperate to get standing back. Seating has killed the craic.

Ninian stand, stand up and be counted. This is our chance, as fans - to say
Fuk you jacks, fuk you Durham, fuk you daya and fuk you tan.

Everyone, stop Fukien whinging and picking holes in each other, and get behind our team.
We have under half a season to make a difference.
LETS Do It :ayatollah:

It has always amazed me how people get annoyed because Turner used to just launch the ball forward or a big man upfront meant we were playing hoof ball.

THEN we pass it around keeping possession and the fans get on the players back for not getting it forward.

It's usually fans over 50 who are screaming, 'get it forward'. Obviously brought up on good old fashion lower league shyte.

correct. im fed up of people criticising and the 'narrowmindedness' of our fans are unreal. people pick scapegoats like whitts cowie, turner etc and turn a blind eye if a big name like bellamy, medel or caulkere make an error. i argued with a bloke behind me today cos i told him not to bother coming if he's just gonna spend 90mins in my p*ssing ear moaning. get behind the team, they need us more than ever

The sooner we get relegated and all the uppity plastics leave the better. We should have never left Ninian Park and should have just settled for the lower leagues and enjoyed life having a good drink on the terraces vs Rochdale. Thats proper football. The Premier League is just a capitalist cesspit. Watch all the plastics leave if we go down. Roathie is correct, our attendances will plummet.

:sleepy2: :sleepy2: :sleepy2: Would much rather play against the elite than see a team with a huge population and a huge catchment area play in the basement leagues, the lower leagues are f*cking embarrassing. The Premier League is where it's at

When have we ever been conisidered a big club, about more than half our support have been watching us for less than 10 years for f**k sake

I don't think the fans were booing possession football. Not that I'm defending them.

You said we'll never be a big club because a big club would not accept a rebrand. Well we're not a "big club" yet anyway.

Your whole post doesn't make sense.

Not booing possession football? If we passed back to Marshall fans went nuts. Yet they go nuts when Turner punts it. Somewhere Cardiff fans got it in their head that keeping the ball is a bad thing.

We cant be a big club yet, we are in our first year in the premier.

A lot of the other clubs, including Norwich have had a lot more time in the higher leagues over the last 30 or so years, where we have had years in the basement.

While we have been in the basement, fathers have followed man utd, liverpool Etc. Where the like of people in manchester never had to follow a club 100 miles away because they have always had a decent club at home.

I can guarantee, that if City was in the premier doing well for the next 10 years we could easily get 40k at the CCS.

It wasn't good possession football though!

It was oh shit there's a player coming towards me I'll pass it back, then he would get pushed back until eventually Marshall would launch it down the pitch. The players weren't making the movement to allow creative use of the ball.

What is it with our support and the hoof ball? It's not plastics shouting ' come on get rid of it' after 2 seconds on the ball because I remember the same thing a decade ago against chesterfield.....Why do we do it? Is it a hang over from decades of watching div 4 players, Our New plastics shout it, probably because they presume it 's what live football fans shout at every other ground. :laughing5:

We are just Welsh Arsenal fans. The level of expectancy is ridiculous especially for a small club....Every week is getting quieter.

At least the Jacks fans had a laugh in their first season and gave it a go, we are sitting down looking at the player in disgust as if we are supposed to win every game.

Just because our fruitcake owner changed our kit to a piss poor copy of Man U (how many were secretly happy as united were your original team) we are only there to provide the big boys match practice for their champions league campaigns.

Re: TWO REASONS WHY WE WILL NEVER BE A BIG CLUB

The problem with British football clubs is the relationship they have with their own fans!!

Football should be about the fans and nothing else....Clubs should have a clear ethos as to what they hope to achieve and how they go about it with the fans of the club being the priority.......When we were in all this debt before Tan issued the phoney ultimatum 'red or dead', was it too simplistic to tell him to jog on, sell all the playing personell and start again??

You don't need a degree to work out how clubs get into debt, stop loaning money. :ayatollah:

But we aren't a big club. in fact we are one of the minions, at the moment.
Very inaccurate post. Grow up.
Delusions of grandeur don't get us goals.

Not once have I stated that we're a 'big club' just written two reasons to why we never will be because we've all heard the bullshit over the last 15 years that we're a sleeping giant. We're now at the pinnacle of British football and this 'giant' still hasn't awoken..

Swansea were mid table their entire first season, it's a lot easier to keep cheering when you aren't staring relegation at the face...

That's right we only sing when we are winning

The problem is for a lot of fans this is their first losing season and it shows, they don't know what to do because I paid my £400 and I am entitled to home victories......

Problem is we're not good enough to play out from the back, tbh i don't want to see Turner playing it out just not good enough, thats why Jones is a good signing get on the end when Turner launches it up field.
