Ole has found the weak link

Sat Feb 01, 2014 6:01 pm

Without Whittingham we have much more fight and bite about us. We were better last season when he didn't play, his delivery from set piece isn't there anymore either and his goals have dried up. Time to drop him.

Whitts is being played out of position and was under Malky. The last manager to play him in his correct position was Dave Jones. Whittingham is a CAM/LAM/LM. He thrives being an attacking player, not a defensively minded player. If you put Hazard, Kagawa, Mata, Coutinho, etc. in CM/CDM they'd be crap too. FACT!

glad he had the balls to take him off. been a great player for us but i agree he is a weak link now, no coincidence that he has 'not played as well or 'out of position' since we were top of the champ and in the prem. not good enough for where we want to be,.

I'm not a professional footballer so I would think you would :laughing6: but I could promise you I would bust a gut for my team and give it my all. No offence but Whits has had quite a few bad games in recent times and in a relegation battle you need men on the field who are going to give everything to the cause like the rest of the Cardiff City players today but I'm sorry Whittingham doesn't give the impression that he's giving his all and Ole recognised that today by taking him off so early in the game. I will be surprised if we see him starting a game for Cardiff in the near future

Being out of position may explain his lack of well.. Anything on open play but this doesn't explain his dire free kicks, they have been diabolical for months.

Drop him and start with the team we came on with at half time.

Sorted.

I diasgree.

Should have had the balls not to select him in the first place.

Much worse to drag him off in the first half and put Whitts in that embarrassing position.

Sorry but thats bullshit , Ole wanted 3 points more than he was bothered about offending Whitts. Whitts will get over it .

A professional football player is very well paid for performing for ninety minutes on match day. Every fan should expect those players to put every effort into their performance. Today Whittingham's performance lacked any sense of interest in the proceedings taking place at the CCS, I think he realises he does not have the physical speed or speed of thought to be a Premiership player. You can forgive a player poor form but lack of heart when they have the lifestyle they do is unforgivable.
He was correctly substituted and is indicative of his lack of heart for a relegation fight.
We need players with desire and passion he lacks both.

That can't be right, he put KTC on later in the game!

Cowie might have been a better option, as at least he can keep hold of the ball and pass it to one of his own!
