Cala terminates his contract at Sevilla, to sign for Cardiff City

Cardiff City have captured the signing of central defender Juan Cala from Sevilla, after he and the club agreed to terminate the remaining months of his contract.
Cala24-year-old Juan Cala had stated a few days ago that he wouldn’t be renewing his contract with Sevilla, but had suggested he would remain with the Andaluz club until the end of the season.
According to previous reports, Cala then verbally agreed a move to fellow La Liga side Getafe, but that situation has now changed. Sevilla and the player have agreed an immediate termination of his contract and even though the transfer window has closed, technically a free agent, he has now agreed a move to Premier League side Cardiff City.
Cala is now heading to the Welsh capital, where he will complete his paperwork and link up with his new team, managed by former Manchester United star, Ole Gunnar Solskjær. The defender was actually named in the Sevilla squad to face Málaga at La Rosaleda on Saturday night, but his place will now be taken by another youth team product, Luismi.
Cala leaves Sevilla having made 19 appearances in all competitions this season, all of which were in the starting eleven, with 9 outings and 1 goal in La Liga, 2 in the Copa del Rey and 8 appearances in the qualifying round and group stage of the UEFA Europa Leage.

He is awful. This one is a desperation signing. Was loaned to Cartagena and AEK Athens in Greece but got called back because they were short of numbers. Taller option than sticking Medel there and can get a goal but he is a woeful defender. Not what we need in a league like this where a mistake is punished more often than not.
