New poster - my opinions

Sat Feb 01, 2014 11:40 am

Firstly, lets get this out of the way to avoid confusion. I'm a born and bred Jack (and I don't live in a caravan or sell pegs). I just want to give some honest thoughts on our clubs.

Rebrand
You should have put up more of a fight. Was it because we were in the premier league and doing so well that a lot of your fans were willing to sell out to get to the same level as us?

I genuinely feel sorry for your hardcore fans (the ones that were there in the league 2 days) who have opposed the rebrand but were basically outvoted by the majority (the 'Jonny come latelys') and have had the soul of their club ripped from them. That's the sad state of football though, owners don't care about the fans as long as they pay their money.

Premier league football fans
I remember some fantastic nights at the Vetch Field with crowds of less than 5,000. The reason... because these were the diehard fans. Now, whenever I'm at a game I am surrounded by people who I know to have previously supported Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal, etc but have suddenly become lifelong Jacks... sorry but this does my head in. I'm guessing that your club also has your fair share of these.

This season
I think we have a team good enough to finish mid table if we can get everyone back from injury and performing.

I think you would have gone down if Malky was still there but with OGS in charge I think you have given yourself a fighting chance. I like the look of Daehli, he could turn out to be an excellent signing. Fabio will do a steady job in my opinion and Kenwynne Jones and Zaha (Zaha I think is an outstanding signing) will get you over the line and ensure survival.

I'm a little more worried about the return derby game (and you doing the first double over us) now that you have made these signings, you've had a strong January.

PS though - You still have an absolute nutter in charge of your football club and you shouldn't be rolling over for him every time he waives his chequebook.

I think you'll enjoy your football more when you give up on trying to meet guys and strike up a relationship at a match.

As for "great nights" with 5k other like minded "fools" let's all hope a return to those days for you as quick as possible.

Well not quite correct that bit. Some of our fans who claimed to be there in league 2 are die hard reds now.

You are, but calling yourself thevoiceofreason and then telling us about our club after claiming that you're a jack and you always will be makes you look a bit of a tw*t

I switched off at 'I'm a born and bred Jack', so thanks for the early warning. It smacks of the serial fantastist that is Roath 'Rolf Harris' Mitty. He's as predictable as a sore ring after a vindaloo. And .......wait for it......'Green Eyed Monster'. Only fruit loops mistake pity for envy. G'Day Cobblers.
