Striker/Central Defender

I thought that during the transfer window Ole would have made signings in these areas to strengthen the squad. Yes he brought in Kenwyne Jones but you have to ask why leave it so late to try and strengthen on deadline day.

There was some good business to be made earlier in the month, Hull for example picking up Jelavic and Long. Being offered Cisse at the last minute would have been a huge call to make. 10M (as rumoured) plus the wages would have been a big outlay for someone who has been misfiring for Newcastle over the past 12 months. On the other hand he is a proven goalscorer who could of helped Cardiff in their fight against relegation. Was it the right call not to sign him? There were quotes that the offer for Le Fondre was very small.

With regards to a centre back we seemed to have been linked with many across Europe but none materialised and we even tried to hijack Scott Dann from Palace on the last day. Again why was it left so late?

Only time will tell if the right calls were made. :ayatollah:

I have to agree with you, I do not understand why everything was left so late. Was it the club being naive, one thing is certain there will be a clear out with the likes of Hudson, Turner, Whitts, Gunnarson, Kev, Smith, Bellers in the summer should we stay up. If we go down I think the squad as it is will bring us straight back up, having said that many a decent team has gone back down and have carried on falling.

I remain optimistic as we have a player in Zaha that will create the chances that haven't been created thus far and a big strong striker in KJ who knows where the net is. OK KJ has not had the best of times of late for one reason or another but sometimes a new start can be the catalyst for a new lease of life.

Ole has his squad, it is now upto us to get behind them more than ever and make some noise. That includes every stand in the CCS.
