FC Copenhagen can confirm Andreas Cornelius has joined us on a 5year deal
Andreas Cornelius is looking forward again to crank out for FC Copenhagen. He does not see it as a step back.
Just six months after entering Cardiff, Andreas Cornelius back in FC Copenhagen. The attacker has signed a five-year contract with the lions, as he looks forward again to crank out.
- I was not a second of doubt that this was where I was going, now that the situation was as it was in Cardiff. I have nothing bad to say about the club or any of it over there, but I have to play football, Cornelius says in a press release.
- I do not see it as a step back, to get to the biggest club in Scandinavia. I feel there are many things I have not achieved with FC Copenhagen yet, and I will definitely game to be part of what is being built on the FCK right now.
- So now I am looking forward for me to work out with the guys again and get on with playing football.
Cornelius did in Cardiff to get eight indhop in the Premier League without scoring. In FCK netted his last season 18 times in 32 Premier League matches.

Crazy, I know he's had a rough time but he doesn't get voted player and young player of year and top scorer!

We must have a replacement then? Clubs not daft enough to leave ourselves that short.

We've got jones in that role but we don't have any depth up top so must have got a striker in.

He must have looked extremely poor in training for us to sell him at such a loss instead of loaning him out for development.
What I don't understand though it wasn't as if he was some player plucked from obscurity that only MM knew about. It's being made out as if we have been stitched up by MM and his team. The whole of Europe were raving about him last year OGS included. He has won awards, received international call ups etc so unless all of these third parties are all in on stitching us up I just doesn't make sense.
I just hope we have some clauses in there like a 50% sell on etc because we have history on this xcough Rosco coughx making us look silly.

Denmark striker Andreas Cornelius has returned to Copenhagen after just half a season with Cardiff City.
Cornelius arrived in south Wales on a five-year deal at the beginning of July in a club-record transfer, believed to be worth around £8million.
CARDIFF CITY LATEST
9/1 Cardiff are 9/1 with Paddy Power to beat Norwich 2-0
However, he was unable to gain regular first-team football with his only starts coming in the FA Cup.
The 20-year-old will now seek to relaunch his career on familiar soil, having scored 18 league goals for Copenhagen last season.
A statement on the Danish club's official website reads: "FC Copenhagen have re-signed the club’s former top scorer, Andreas Cornelius, from Premier League side Cardiff City.
"Cornelius has agreed a five-year contract with the Lions and transfers with immediate effect."
Expressing his relief at the move, Cornelius added: "I didn’t have a second of doubt that this was where I wanted to be, especially with the situation as it was in Cardiff.
"I have nothing bad to say about the club or anyone connected with it but I need to play football.
"I do not see it as a backwards step to play for the biggest club in Scandinavia. I feel there are many things I have not achieved with FC Copenhagen and I will definitely fight to be part of what is being built at FCK right now."

A massive shame really.
The undisputable fact is that we paid far too much for him and that price tag/speculated wages hung around his neck the whole time.
However, I do believe he'll be a decent player one day, and I don't think he was as bad as people make him out to be - was unfortunate to get injured so early on and the odd bit part appearance with 10 mins to go was never going to allow him to make his mark.
Ideally, we wouldn't have paid so much, he'd have been loaned out for a season and made the odd cup apperance etc.
Good luck to him.

I am a little surprised by this sale, but what the heck do I know.
I guess this mean that Ole did not see Cornelius as someone who could make an impact in the near future.
I am surprised that they would take such a big loss in him though.I still believe with a loan somewhere he could get back his confidence and develop further, and then he would be worth more than £3m.
But I guess this was a bad deal from the start.Too much money to pay for a talent.Heck,in my opinion not even Messi should be paid more per year than my sister who is a nurse!!
Also, the few clips I saw of Cornelius from trainings he looked quite uninterested,he didn't show anything very special in games, and people report him not being able to hit the goal in training, was all worrying.
Anyway,I believe all players can become better footballers if THEY WANT TO,so I always think its best to support and stand behind any player that is in the squad.
Now he is out,and yes,I admit he did seem to lack enough talent in technique and maybe pace to make it in top Premier League level. But then again he is only 20 years old and can develop for many years if he wants to.
Now its time to get behind all the players in the Bluebird Squad! And maybe this can make room for this young Healy guy that I read much good things about.Ole loves to work with talented guys and help them to develop. He also have a very good eye to spot talents, and not afraid to give them chances at an early age.Very good quality to have for a coach in my opinion!
I am hoping Bluebirds shows Norwich how to play football today

I'm surprised no one has realised the club sold him due to the financial fair play rules. That's why

How come? And.. Thanks btw...
We're very happy to get Andreas back, we've been without a proper targetman, since he left.
We deperately needs a targetman that understands the way FC Copenhagen plays football. Especially the form of attacking.
The way Cardiff City plays and the way FC Copenhagen play, are very diffrent, and needs diffrent kind of players.
There's a general opinion in the danish press, that Cornelius was simply the wrong type of attacker for you. And that the 3-4 months of injuries did'nt help that.
I'm hoping all the best for you guys, and good luck with the season.
He's the welcome home flick, to Cornelius. If you see the way he scores his goals in comparison as to how Campbell or Mutch has scored his goals.
