Cardiff’s search for striking reinforcements could extend to Spain, with the Daily Mirror having linked them with a move for Real Vallodolid forward Javi Guerra. The Bluebirds are known to be keen on bolstering their strikeforce, and are believed to have targeted Guerra as the man to fire them to safety.

The Premier League’s bottom side have scored just 17 goals this season, the second lowest in the league. New boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already added Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones to his front-line, but if the Mirror are to be believed then he could be working up to the wire in order to sign Guerra.

Guerra has scored 11 goals in 21 La Liga appearances this season, as well as having provided one assist. The 31-year-old has 65 goals in 127 games for Vallodolid since his 2010 move from Real Mallorca. The forward has never played for a side outside of Spain, but could be in line for his final crack at a foreign move if a move to the Welsh capital materialises.

I'm more concerned about a CB than a striker. I wish they didn't play medel as a third CB and whitts and a cdm, and people wonder why we don't score!

Javi Guerra remains in Valladolid

The Malaga striker Valladolid end the season in spite of the intense interest in signing him from Cardiff City

Javi Guerra will not leave Real Valladolid in the winter just ended. Minutes before midnight, blanquivioleta front has come, hurriedly, the offices of the Estadio José Zorrilla-where attended to facilitate an agreement, output-, and has stated that it was , closing one of the most distressing chapters of the last months for both club-by the possibility of losing the natural template-scorer and the fans, who felt the striker as one of the representative figures of the template.

Although Cardiff City has negotiated all day with club pucelano to incorporate immediately, the economic demands calling for the Real Valladolid and War decision not to strain it late have paralyzed an early departure to Wales for War which remain in the Spanish capital until June 30 -flattering no expectations about their stay in Valladolid beyond this campaign.
From rumor to trading

Despite the words uttered yesterday by the President of the Spanish entity, Carlos Suárez, which claimed it would be very difficult to leave the team War in January, the offensive 'bluebirds' was not a mere interest , but all day evolved in conversations with the passing hours, and feeling the rumor market close on Spain and the UK closer, have bothered to sports management .

The Cardiff, with the need to be strengthened to avoid relegation to Championship, set his sights on a front that while it does not have a very notable international cartel, is one of the top scorers in La Liga. However, the first option of the company led by Malaysian businessman Vincent Tan was Cisse Newcastle tip , but the possibility of going to Spain to acquire War was also very present.

The agreement eventually faded. The Real Valladolid was referred to the six million clause , but the British team offered three to four million and did not see it as an obligation to reach the number required by the club Valladolid. War, even before it had an unusual opportunity to arrive at the islands, personal desire of the player, decided to stay to try to end his contract with the Primera Division blanquivioleta.

Yeah mate cos they obviously only concentrate on one deal at a time. Wait till it's dead in the water before slowly starting up another deal, repeat process until the busiest transfer rush of the year is over...

I for one don't believe the McCormack or Le Fondre rumours tbh.

Cardiff City were keen to bolster their attack for their Premier League survival race by bringing in Papiss Cisse of Newcastle United.

But the £10m price tag set by the Magpies appeared to be too much for the Bluebirds, who preferred a loan deal, to match.

The Senegalese hot-shot would have replaced Danish international Andreas Cornelius in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Premier League squad after he completed his move back to FC Copenhagen.

Cisse was Solskjaer's first choice to be his striker, but as they looked set to miss out on the 28-year-old the Bluebirds turned to Adam Le Fondre of Reading but that bid was turned down.

Also, a reported £4m bid for former striker Ross McCormack was denied by both the Leeds United player and sources close to Cardiff City.

Joe Kinnear is smoking something if he thinks Cissé is still worth £10m. They should be happy for £6m at most right now, the guy has been woeful for nearly 18 months.

Plus, I'm curious why they think it's fine to just loan in top players themselves, but not loan their own ones out that they don't want?
