Exciting deadline day ahead it looks like

Fri Jan 31, 2014 1:09 am

On the eve of deadline day we've been linked with almost every player in Europe and one of their distant relatives. It looks like Ole is very hard at work and is trying to strengthen before the window slams shut. One player I think we know won't be coming to us is Tom Ince who seems to meet up with club reps just for a free McDonalds meal.

What areas do you think we need to strengthen before the window slams shut? I think this is going to be a very interesting deadline day for us.

I would like a striker, a central defender and possibly another midfielder to join Fabio and Zaha.

Yes,a centre half and striker are definite targets and he also appears keen on another midfielder...lets hope we get all 3 or at least two and one at worse...should be very interesting day.

Although pleased with Jones I still feel another striker is something we need desperately. We're threadbare in terms of strikers. Mason could leave, Cornelius looking likely to leave and with Maynard out on loan and Rudy sold we don't have strength in depth.

I'd love a Finnbogasson/Rhodes type who knows where the net is. Sadly I think they'd cost too much and Rovers and Heerenveen would have little time to replace them so they'd be reluctant to sell

But a defender is something we are hugely lacking. I don't think Turner or Hudson are up for for the Premier League so hopefully Ole goes out and brings someone in. Alderweireld would be perfect for a loan so then we can search for a new long-term CB in the summer. Although Lescott wouldn't be a bad shout either with City chasing Manalga.

But if Rincon signs then maybe Ole could push Medel into CB to compensate for the lack of quality we have there.
